Dave to self: OK, I've run out of ideas, time to trot out the backup singers...
Even the backup singers can't save this dreck.
Studio version kinda cool. Live version .... yuck.
Make..... it....... stop.......
mediocre, overrated
Dave rules. Excellent musicians, making excellent music. Glad you played a live track, it is nice to hear something that the mainstreams aren\'t playing to death.
This is a great song, but what\'s with playing the really bad live version? This version gets a 1, but the album version would get a much higher score.

It's like sunshine! You need it every day!

Would carnage be a description of your music taste? Sorry Art, Dave rocks!

Wasting Time? I guess they mean the time spent listening to this.
Especially with the background singers, this is a lively song with energy to spare. No problems here. DM has a distinctive and unique voice; if you don't like him....well, there is a wide range of other musicians and stations to listen to. Keep in mind, a lot of folks have talked down Neal Young, Van Morrision, and Bob Dylan as well for their vocal idiosyncrasies over the years. Like them, I think Matthews will outlast his critics as well.
Someone get the fucking marbles out of his mouth PLEASE!
I'm consistently astonished by the tempest in a teapot
You are spot on. This is far from my fav from them and I'm not a fan.... but they are good. I'm certainly not going to lay into them. People love to hate things that are popular.
I\'m consistently astonished by the tempest in a teapot stirred up by every appearance of DMB in the playlist. I can understand the fervent defenses, \'cause I think they rock, and I happen to like the distinctive qualities of Dave\'s voice, and the energy with which he delivers an intelligent lyric. Can\'t understand why it\'s become so fashionable to heap him with scorn, unless some people just can\'t stand success. Anyway, I\'m glad all this seems to have little impact on Bill.

I sincerely wish I could agree whole-heartedly. (I would agree half-heartedly, but I'm not really sure what that would mean.) In this song, at any rate, I do like the little melodic allusion to Phil Collins's "I Wish it would Rain." Okay, maybe it's half-parody and half-allusion. Nice touch either way.

Excellent musicians? Perhaps. Over-produced arrangements, off-key singing by DM, boring lyrics? Definitely. DMB = overrated + overplayed.

I agree, and yet I don't enjoy listening to them. Go figure...
To much paroxims ... nearly as a epileptic musica ... but it is ok
Teko commented he didn\'t like the background gospel singers, while they\'re just what makes this song quite enjoyable for me.
I\'ve grown so incredibly tired of DMB. I\'d sure like to see RP ease up on DMB at least for a while.
Normally I loathe DMB, but this version is actually fun. DMB is definately a love-hate band. I\'m pretty strongly in the hate category, but I had to give this version a \"7\". I think it is primarily the lack of DM vocals that I\'m liking. -Tony
