Window shoppin'
Finger poppin'
Hangin' in our fav'rite shopping mall
Looky looky
A little cutie
A little kitten she deserves a home

Tell you dudes when I get old enough
You bet that I am gonna try some stuff

Twisted sister
Don't 'cha miss her
There's a hundred more where she came from
Wiggle wiggle
Jiggle jiggle
Jesus, how the babes are almost grown!

And I don't need to watch the news at night
Anyone can see we're out of time --

Hangin' on
Hangin' out
Got my hundred dollar shoes
Hangin' round
Hangin' free
And we got nothin' else to do
What goes up
Must come down
Oh, she took an overdose
Hangin' out
Hangin' free
Till our mama takes us home

Shimmy shimmy
Gimmie gimmie
We don't need you and we don't need love
I gotta have it
I'm gonna grab it
It ain't stealing, hey, it's only fun

When you live inside the pleasure dome
You don't ever wanna go back home

Hangin' on
Hangin' out
Some are hangin' upside down
A perfect world
A perfect girl
Oh -- another year rolls by
I'm the king
And you're my queen
When those zombies all awake
A broken heart
A broken home
Ain't no tears upon your face

Hangin' on
Hangin' out
There's place for me and you
Hangin' round
Hangin' free
We got nothin' else to do
Turn it up
Fade it down
Yeah, that song it saved my life
Perfect teeth
A perfect smile
Oh, she was a friend of mine
Let's go out
To the place
Where the hands of time are slowed
No one walks
No one dies
No more hassles anymore

I love D.B.  AND the Talking Heads! His solo work is hit or miss for me. This tune is a HIT!  Thanx RP!
I am not a fan of David Byrne, nor of The Talking Heads, and I am not disputing their musical skills at all but in my honest opinion they are both overplayed. I'm sorry fans!

He's open about being on the spectrum. Unlike me!
Album title eloquently shares my sentiment.
David Byrne as an artist seldom disappoints.
tedious voice, tedious sound.  no more!
So Byrne just needs an Emmy to have an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). Not that he needs it.
Byrne without Talking Heads? Goofball cultural appropriation. Corny AF

It is a shame, but a lot of great musicians are D-Bags & A-Holes! ...At least, Big Dave isn't a substance abuser & lived past 27yrs old!
That too is true

It is not Tina Weymouth ....

When did he become a motivational speaker?

Still a 10. Also, pretty much nothing like Stay Up Late.

Yeah, he even changed the chord progression and the melody.

And removed the piano, and added a horn section. Otherwise, it's identical.

I was a teen in the eighties, but David Byrne attracted my attention only in the 90s... but with a masterpiece of songwriting :)
I think if you don't like "Happy Suicide", then Byrne is just not your cup of tea...

Lighten up, Francis.

With his taste in beer, did you really think he had taste in music?
Yo, this song is an 8 I guess, very catchy as Byrne can get...
But that album art!!! Love it

This is a vast improvement over that, IMHO. This one swings.

This may come as a shock to some but artists do revisit themes, ideas, melodies, etc. Go look at Bach.
This song always conjures intensely positive memories of a girl I used to know. Why? She didn't have perfect teeth, but I'll never forget her smile.

If you haven't already, check out his album "Feelings." It's a quirky tour de force recorded with Morcheeba. Oddball and entertaining,

I usually don't enjoy Mr. Bryne's work either- but for some reason this track doesn't bother me as much as others.
I can't stand Talking Heads.

But i kind of like David Byrne solo.

my favorite song:  once in a lifetime

It is a curious dichotomy, isn't it? I don't like his solo stuff nearly as much as the TH material.

Yup, it's that familiar David Byrne/Talking Heads Tellytubbies sound. Eh-oh, eh-oh. Mute on and away to make a cup of tea. Back in 5.

A 10 in my book!

Not too shabby! Generally speaking I'm strongly anti-David Byrne, but this one opens my ears a crack.

Lotsa wax to clear out there.

I can't relate to Jagdriver either.  I find it ridiculous to automatically give a number to any artist across the board.  But maybe its just cause I ride a bike too...

When this song plays, it feels like early summer. N-i-c-e.

Automatic 1 for all DB/TH.
David Byrne,  Hult center Eugene OR. 92 in my top 5 best shows.
Just great!

Oh man. Dinging someone from Kenya (or anywhere else that English is a second or lower language) for spelling errors is bad form. Edit: especially when there's only one spelling error, and it's one of the trickier ones to catch. Further Edit: Wikipedia lists Kenya's official languages as Swahili and English. Still my point stands. And unless we all begin conforming to Her Majesty's English, there can be no honour in nit-picking this kind of spelling error.
Wonder of wonders, David Byrne doing a song I actually like!
i liked this better the first time, when it was on Little Creatures, and called "Stay Up Late."
nice, funky and clunky great unpretentious music
i don't like the voice
Uh, I don't feel that strongly but I do think he's overplayed and over-rated. I mean, compared to the previous band, Los Lobos, he's very lightweight.

Huh. Mix Byrne's voice more into the background, as in this tune, and it's surprisingly enjoyable. When the vocals are deliberately brought to the forefront, his limitations are laid bare. But like this, all is good. I learned something today. Sound guys are important!

So? Was it a relief to say it? If it was, I'll say the same myself: I find David Byrne's music gaudy, annoying, and otherwise acoustically offensive... Hope I'll feel better in a couple of minutes.
I LOVE THIS RADIO STATION!
David Byrne - Hanging Upside Down Los Lobos - This Time Split Enz - One Step Ahead The Jam - That's Entertainment
When are the Talking Heads going to back together for a alimony tour?
The cover alone's worth a 7. Nice music, too!
I'm indifferent to most Talking Heads music but I love the outrage they engender every time Bill plays a song - so fun to watch!
