All right, here we go
It's a little number we call
Gimme some sugar, little honey natural bee

Come on now, give me some sugar
Give me some sugar, little honey bee
Don't be afraid, not gonna hurt you
I wouldn't hurt my little honey bee

Don't say a word, bout what were doin'
Don't say nothin', little honey bee
Don't tell your momma, don't tell your sister
Don't tell your boyfriend, little honey bee

She like to call me king bee
She like to buzz round my tree
I call her honey bee
I'm a man in a trance
I'm a boy in short pants
When I see my honey bee
And Ive got something to say

Look here now, peace in the valley
Peace in the valley with my honey bee
Don't say a word, bout what were doin'
Don't say nothin', little honey bee

She give me her monkey hand
And a Rambler sedan
I'm the king of Milwaukee
Her juju beads are so nice
She kissed my third cousin twice
I'm the king of Pomona
And I've got something to say

I love love love how Bill puts together mini sets in the playlist. I'm hearing the Rock n Drawl set now--

Now Playing: Honey Bee- Tom Petty (from Florida)
Driving the View- Son Volt (Illinois)
Lullaby- Pieta Brown (Iowa)
Right In Time- Lucinda Willams (Louisiana)

I wonder how it sounds to non-Americans?
Buzz around

This is like saying Magic Johnson is overrated if anyone dare compare him to LeBron James.

Original comment not even worth dignifying!
Tom Petty will go down in history as a premiere American Musical ICON!
Shoots R.P you sure know how to pick em
 !!!!
One of my favorite T.P tunes
It just rolls Man!

Gone to early Tom
OOOH how you are missed!
Tom Petty's work often suffers from an 80s production that didn't age well. This album was spared, and the sound is really powerful :) It's my favourite!
That bass

Not the best version but here's the clip (at least for now) I Dave Grohl just kicking the song's butt out the front door on SNL.

I tried to view the linked version and got this:

"This video contains content from NBC Universal, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."

Thanks for the tip. You can probably find it on Lorne-friendly sources: NBC On Demand or Hulu if you have it. Anything with Dave Grohl on drums sounds better. I really miss Tom Petty. He was very solid.

TJ,

Glad you mentioned that version.  Grohl said that was one of his vaorite songs EVER to play live, "a true garage anthem" I believe is what he called it.

Unfortunately, Supreme Overlord Dr. Evil lorne michaels keeps his minnions on the lookout for any SNL videos that pop up on you tube.  If you have that version, I'd love to see it.

'Crawling Back To You' may be his best song.

I'm happy we are hearing more of this fine record.

I was a big fan of the album as well... but it's been a lot of years since I had that cassette.
I must get myself another copy (though, not on cassette).

yeah, i recently repurchased it and was reminded of how great an album it is.
definitely necessary to get it again (not on cassette!)
Thanks Tom, thanks Mike, excellent !  Ass Kickin,' as usual......
Say what?  You want me to scratch the word "Heartbreakers" from the album cover?
Hey your the boss... well you know what I mean...

I am about halfway through Tom's four hour autobiographical DVD Runnin Down a Dream.  Even though I'm a casual fan at best, I recommend it —- it's intelligently done and manages to outline his place in rock music history without coming across as egotistical.
Good ol' straight-ahead rawk n' roll. {#Good-vibes}

Do it yourself, brother.

This CD (which didn't stay on the charts long) is full of great tunes. Check it out; if you like Tom you won't be disappointed.

Yet another of my favorite get-wasted-with-your-boys-and-jam-into-the-night songs.

Oh, the memories!!!!

{#Cheers}  Here's to ya, my Kentucky bretheren!  You are sorely missed!

This just plainly rocks.

This CD would be an excellent selection, every song is great, and the flow is wonderful. Enjoy.

Wow! This one is just plain great! Love the gravelly talking right at the beginning too.
Channeling (Electric) Hot Tuna....
I'll bet this just rocks live.
crunchy...badass petty rock buzz a while
It's so dirrty!
Finally! Some good ol'rock & roll on RP!
I love this tune so much. wondering why it's juxtaposed so oddly within the playlist.
One of Tom's best "rockin" songs. And rock it does.

This is one of those rare CD's where every song is great (IMHO)

'She like to buzz round my tree, I call her Honeybee'
EXCELLENT song! From the comments, it looks like there was a five-year break between plays. It's good to hear it today. She give me her monkey hand And a Rambler sedan I'm the king of Milwaukee...
A Tom Petty song I LIKE!
NICE! good one - haven't heard this in a while.
wildflowers a speciality!
overplayed (on RP). getting really grating very quickly. once a day is much more than enough already!!!!
Way below TP\'s standards.
not one of the few Petty songs that I like.
