I haven't hard this song since it was heavy rotation at a Dallas radio station where I worked in the mid 90s. Blast from the past. I must say absence made the heart grow fonder (but hearing it three or more times a day would make one reach for a syringe).

For me it's just the opposite.  You hear all the excuses, why it's cool, why it's okay, why outsiders wouldn't understand.  Then it's followed up by the nagging ever present voice in the back of your head.  That little lie you tell yourself; "I'm not an addict."

Plateau to Not An Addict to The Needle and the Damage Done... Nice. :) I love Not An Addict. Apart from the message, it's got a really haunting power to it, and all that aside, it's a good cathartic sing-along song for being angry in your car.

I hated it when it was played on Big Corporate Radio years ago, and I hate it still. but i definitely remember thinking that exact same thing back then - "how the hell did this high-school band get a recording contract? just because they sing about being addicts, and that's the hip thing to do right now?" not so good.

Ok to listen to but not a 7.6 guys IMHO. It is a little flat sounding and unimaginative. Reminds me of a high school garage band trying to come up with lyrics/melody by just plowing through chord combinations to whatever comes to mind(or lack of thereof).

Didn\'t like this song much the first several times I heard it. Strange, it eventually broke me down. Not so sure about the lack of creativity during the chorus (I hate when bands grab one or two power chords and play the same quarter notes over and over again for 12 bars) Remove the guitar and this is a sweet song (maybe would have worked better acoustic).
