I like this and I like U2 - if you've travelled in their shoes through what they've achieved then you would probably agree they deserve to have off times but when they hit the highs they were amazing. I still give them respect.

U2, some tunes I like, most I don't, I think it depends on the producer, but over all, I think its a good example of how the world is today.. They are in the top 5 richest bands and I have the belief that they have been blagging it every step of the way, just like most of the politicians!

I've only watched it twice at home. While I wouldn't say it's brilliant, it definitely has a special appeal to me. Somehow after watching the movie I felt that there were quite a few interesting stories left to tell about the not-so-average residents.
Really like the OST as well. "Falling At Your Feet" is another U2 gem.

Not the best song but something a little different from one of the top 5 bands ever to put out a record. Can't believe the haters on this forum - what is going on people - and the boys haven't lost it ATYCLB was their 4th peak IMHO - after War, Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. HTDAAB had many fine tunes on it. Their most recent concert tours have been outstanding.

To not know that this is U2 is puzzling. Probably the most recognizable voice and guitar in music today. As all music will not appeal to everyone, not all artists can please all. Because I like U2's "sound" I like this song albeit not as much as many of their others.

I kind of thought of ATYCLB as the first ever greatest hits album consisting entirely of new releases.

When I saw this song was of the same title I thought it may have been a coincidence, but I looked on the comments page and see that this song is based on the novel or the song of the same title in the novel? I must say musically this song is a huge disappointment to the song in my head when I read and re-read this novel... I hope I don't hear this enough to let it corrupt the book next time I read it again. In my head it is just so lush. It was a tv special on the BBC, I think. I have a poor quality mp3 of this somewhere. It's a rough/demo version of the song with Rushie reading portions of the lyrics.

I fully disagree, and can quite well imagine U2 a 1 and two Jethro Tull's a 10.
No harm there. I probably have the same, and I do not lack any taste. It's just my taste, and I give shit if it ain't yours.
So I'm all on hitz's side here.
With another band I'd give it a higher rating, but U2 has set the bar so high that this just alright.

Love this one from the Million Dollar Hotel soundrack(should pick it up!). Never saw the movie...looked strange...and stranger to see that little guy from ET has REALLY grown up and rolling around with Mila Jovovich (sp?)!! eek! But yeah the song...love all their work with Lanois (sp?)--genius, pure genius, and oh, that Edge guitar just cuts to my core--amazing.

U2 did this song for that film, but then a deal they'd made and forgotten showed up, and they had to slot it in for Million Dollar Hotel. Not too terrible a film, but this song has no place in it, really.

Thank you for mentioning the novel! I was about to, but when I scrolled down I saw that you already had. Anyone who has read the book should realize that this isn't teeny bopper music! Like another poster, I wasn't a U2 fan until I was in my twenties, and I'm still not that much -- but the book is wonderful!

I used to be a 12 year-old girl, and when I was, I didn't like U2. 14 years later now, I do appreciate some of their work. However, nowhere in that time span can I claim to have been a "boper", (much less a teenie one) so I won't venture an opinion on what bopers might think of U2.At risk of being thought of as a 12-year girl, I actually like U2 quite a bit. Well, the mid-career stuff at least.

OK. I\'ve only sporadically listened to RP today and this is the third U2 song. Stop it! There are so many other better bands out there. Try some of them.
U2 has become too much on the radio but this song I like
