Time stands still for no one
I'm behind again i push and still i see i'm getting nowhere quick
I'm staying late again
Worlds turn in the time i catch another breath
I know a little more will surely do the trick
I can't delay
No i can't be late

I can't take the time
But i plan to when i'm done
I can't waste the day
Nothing ventured nothing
I don't think it's wise to be idle when you're young
Oh i have to go
I'll have time to live tomorrow

Take a message for me
Tell the wife i'm sorry
Deadline's almost here and there'll be more recitals
Anyway there are bills to pay

I can't take the time
But i plan to when i'm done
I can't waste the day
Nothing ventured nothing
I don't think it's wise to be idle when you're young
Oh i have to go
I'll have time to live tomorrow
I have to go

Angels spread my wings
And see the fences tumble ageless memories they watch the strong man crumble at my feet
What is this i see

I can't take the time
But i plan to when i'm done
I can't waste the day
Nothing ventured nothing
I don't think it's wise to be idle when you're young
Oh i have to go
I'll have time to live tomorrow
I have to go

Arriving on  this tune from my favorites.

You say that like it's a bad thing...I think this song's good, and being early/mid 90's rock we associate it with such greats as Toad, which helps, but I'm not sure Chalk Farm has any other songs...do they?
Good Song and a Good Album...short lived as they were...

Yeah, lyrically a bit trite--but as a record it works.
I like this. It reminds me of Pat McGee. Good tune!
I liked it

boring
Boring? I see.... since the song lacked numerous guitar solos, drum solos, tons of screaming about being pissed off at their dad, rapping, or many of the other trite senseless things modern rocks songs have, then it is boring. Makes perfect sense..... thanks for such a powerful and verbose review. ;-)
Not bad at all, although I think I hear more of Better than Ezra than Toad here.
Not bad if you're in a Toad the Wet Sprocket mood.
boring
<-( I thought of Incubus and out goes the song for me too. Too trite.
Sounds like the Goo Goo Dolls, so off it goes for this song.
Maybe I'm just too tired to enjoy this...

Nice arrangement from this group. The guitar work is excellent and the lyric phrasing is well done. They sounded promising, it's unfortunate they broke up.
that's too bad! i really liked this tune.
