Train roll on
On down the line, won't you
Please take me far away

Now I feel the wind blow
Outside my door means I'm
I'm leaving my woman at home, Lordy

Tuesday's gone with the wind
Oh my baby's gone with the wind

And I don't know
Oh where I'm going
I just want to be left alone

Well when this train ends
I'll try again oh but
I'm leaving my woman at home, Lordy

Tuesday's gone with the wind
Tuesday's gone with the wind
Tuesday's gone with the wind
My baby's gone with the wind
Train roll on
Tuesday's gone

Train roll on
Many miles from my home, see I'm
I'm riding my blues away, yeah

Well Tuesday you see
Oh she had to be free, Lord but
Somehow I got to carry on, Lordy

Tuesday's gone with the wind
Tuesday's gone with the wind
Tuesday's gone with the wind, oh
My baby's gone with the wind
Train roll on
Roll on
'Cause my baby's gone
I'm riding my blues babe
Trying to ride my blues
Ride on train
Ride on train
Ride my blues babe
Come back to me babe
Come back to me oh train
Roll on train
Wooaahh...
Ride on train
Tuesday

Almost indisputable. Still, this is not bad for being in the group of homegrown runners-up.  Outlaws, Marshall Tucker, and others could bring the tunes to the party.
This was a very  good RnR band htat churned out some memorable albums.  Back when  there  DOZENS of  very good bands across the musical spectrum, not like today.

This band had great guitar and piano players. Their musical genre is what I call "hippie-redneck".

whoa way back! I bought a new '78 CJ5 (think it was like $5000) and stuck a cassette player under the dashboard where Lynyrd Skynyrd's Greatest Hits blasted, zoinks! Thanks for playing this  : )
As someone born in the South(of England), I love me some LS.
As noted earlier, not all the time, but anything all the time will grate in time. For example Highway, Bo Rap, Sgt Pepper etc etc. Rap does NOT need any repeats to grate BTW.

Elvis turns in his grave along with Ronnie and many more... colon

Most might argue there is no such thing as the "the Masters from the south land".   So much amazing music having come from the South and from so many great bands, singers, and entertainers.
Once every 10-15 years...this sounds pretty good.

And you would be correct.
yeah, it's skynrd. at least this one is unique and hasn't been played into the ground.

Good band...wouldn\'t want to hear them all the time(if I did, I\'d just go to a local classic rock station), but once in a while is good.
Though this one\'s about a woman, it still took on new meaning for me after Tues. Sept. 11, 2001.
By: jdemmers Location: Atlanta, GA Oh No! Anything but Lynyrd Skynyrd! Ahhhhh... I\'m sympathetic to you, jdemmers, thinking that you\'ve had Skynrd shoved at you over and over and OVER again for 30 years now, living in Atlanta. Anyway, I\'m lucky enough not to be so tired of the group, and I just hear that bass line working. A great band, let\'s hear enough so we don\'t forget.
Very nice song, and one I'd never heard before. Pleasently surprised. More Skynyrd like this now and then would be welcome...
