You know, RLJ doen'st normally "do" it for me. 
Just a mis-match in styles-much the same way that I respect both her and Dylan, but don't really 'get' them. 
This, on the other hand, just hooks me. Don't know why, just a solid, happy roll with it thing.

A little bit of Rickie Lee Jones goes a long way. Whenever I listen to this album, I appreciate the individual tracks a lot less because they all sound similar. So it's really nice to hear this out of context.

I considered it cool about 30 years ago when it first came out. Still do. (Oh, and there's no pot belly either.)

Hmmmm ... I always thought this was the original and Lowell's was the cover. In any case, I never cared for this song at all until I heard Lowell do it. This version here I could do without. Edit: Okay, I checked and the Lowell George version of this song, written by Jones, is the original (1978). The Jones "cover" of her own tune appeared in 1979. 1978 ... 1979 ... it's hard to keep it all straight nowadays.
