Kavalier & Clay was overall pretty great but when he does sex scenes they careen quickly to too graphic. IIRC. I stopped reading Telegraph Avenue when he was still introducing major characters more than a third of the way in.  But a friend just told me to suck it up because he brings it all together and it's one of her favorite books, so I guess I need to give it another go. I didn't read The Wonder Boys but watched the movie several times.
