Confirmation bias is just gobbledy-speak for a closed mind.

Well, mind is not static in itself. It is created anew with every thought and emotion that's being passed through it. In so far, the people, behaviors, and thoughts we surround ourselves with have an imprinting effect on our minds. That is what confirmation bias in the sense of shared beliefs is.

If you change your environment, you can escape that.

An open mindset is a very beautiful thing tho.

A mind is like a parachute ... it only works when it is open.

And self fulling prophecy is real.  Expect the worst and that is what you usually end up with.  You can still expect the best to happen while considering negative issues.  It is a matter of perspective and attitude.

Attitude is a large part of the environment.
As a cancer patient, I cannot emphasize enough how important attitude is.

In addition regarding CT's, to not even consider the plausible is evidence of a closed mind. To dismiss the plausible without even looking based on the messenger is the goal of those whose actions are being questioned.

The woman/entity/bot (?) that original post came from indulges in just about every CT - flat Earth, no outer space/moon landing, Sandy Hook was a hoax, 5G mind-control, etc.  Yet somehow believes that lead/heavy metal poisoning is a good thing. It seems to be feeding a desire some people have to believe "they know more" than everyone else. Skepticism is a good thing, but cynicism is rarely productive.

Cynicism rules the day. Take the Hurricane Helene situation. Spread as much conspiracy bait as possible and folks who are already scared take them hook line and sinker.
Anything to deflect away attention to the real problem of climate change. I mean how gullible are you to believe that Democrats are controlling the weather to target Republican voters? If they could do that they would have levelled Mara-Lago 10 times over by now.

Why Conspiracy Theories Flourish in Trump’s America *
Whether he is out of power or in office, Donald Trump deploys conspiracy theory as a political mobilizing tool designed to capture anger at the liberal establishment, to legitimize racial resentment and to unite voters who feel oppressed by what they see as a dominant socially progressive culture.

The success of this strategy is demonstrated by the astonishing number of Republicans — a decisive majority, according to a recent Economist/YouGov survey — who say that they believe that the Democratic Party and its elected officials conspired to steal the 2020 election. This is a certifiable conspiracy theory, defined as a belief in “a secret arrangement by a group of powerful people to usurp political or economic power, violate established rights, hoard vital secrets or unlawfully alter government institutions.

”Not only do something like 71 percent of Republicans — roughly 52 million voters, according to a University of Massachusetts Amherst poll released on Jan. 6, 2022 — claim to believe that Donald Trump won the 2020 election, despite indisputable evidence to the contrary, but the Republican Party has committed itself unequivocally and relentlessly to promoting this false claim.

The delusion is evident in the Republican candidates who won primaries for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and other statewide posts in elections conducted in 18 states during the first five months of this year. (...)

What's amazing about the theories is that they also attack positions that the right has defended.  For example:

“He was an illegal alien wanted for murder from El Salvador,” read one tweet liked and retweeted hundreds of times. “This is blood on Biden’s hands and should have never happened.”

If he's an illegal alien, then maybe we shouldn't sell him automatic weapons?

Joe would be happy to outlaw guns, but he'd probably settle on a background check or a minimum age of 21 (or 25)?   Anyone who believes it is an idiot...which is another reason we should have background checks.  90% of TEXANS are OK with background checks...90%!!!   The insanity is that a very, very strict minority is setting policy that the vast majority of our democracy disagrees with.  I'm pretty sure it's no longer a democracy when that happens.

Some great names mentioned in this article, entertaining read:

EYES FOR YOU – HIPPIE MOVEMENT CREATED BY CIA + FRITZ SPRINGMEIER – MK IN ROCK MUSIC + DAVID MCGOWAN – INSIDE LC: THE STRANGE BUT TRUE STORY OF LAUREL CANYON AND BIRTH OF HIPPIE GENERATION

4 MAART 2018 BUSINESSPLAN, HOME, LOCATIE, MEDIA, PORTRETTEN 2

The Hippie movement was created by CIA: Jim Morrison, Frank Zappa and lots of 60’s artists, were MK ULTRA agents

Below is an article about how the CIA created the so called “Hippie movement”, it details how they introduced LSD and contraculture through Manchurian candidates and MK ULTRA operatives in Laurel Canyon, the crib of Hippie generation. My guess is Burnt Out. Hippie’s were not aware that the music and movie industry icon’s they worshiped were tied in with Military Intelligence, the CIA and the iLLUMiNATi bloodlines. According to the article they were also were involved in organised crime, drug dealing, murder, prostitution, child pornography, snuff movies and black magic.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

At least this is what we are led to believe then everything else in the world seems to be upside down, at least we can find our comfort in rock music, by listening to our old heroes, who truly know what the world is about and how to rebel against it.

As I write this, it’s been ten years since I published my first article on the internet and at the same time established the “iLLUMiNATi News Website”. Although it has been a challenge and I have had wonderful, and not so wonderful, responses over the years, there is one subject I have brought up that has caused more upsets and uproar than any other, and that is the exposure of the music industry, to which I have dedicated a whole section (http://www.iLLUMiNATi-news.com/art-and-mc/index2.htm). It is a holy cow, indeed.

Of course, most people who are blues and rock’n roll fans have heard about Robert Johnson and how he sold his soul to the Devil at the Crossroads in exchange for brilliant musical skills. Whether this is a myth or if it’s true, I leave for you to decide, but strange things are happening behind the scenes in the music industry and unfortunately, the rock stars most of us have worshipped are not always what we thought they were. Although the Robert Johnson story could be a myth, he is not the only one claiming to have sold his soul to the devil for fame and fortune. There are quite a few admitting to the same thing, where Bob Dylan is one of them as we shall see later in this article.

The music industry as a Propaganda Machine
