wow.  That was amazing!  I so much enjoyed that ending.  Maybe I'll go back to book one and read all fourteen books straight through again.

And, uh, yes I read 909 pages in 8 days.  And I didn't have the book for two of those days in the middle there.

Well, considering that the original author of the series died in 2009 without finishing his 13 book epic, and this is the final book written by another author (with the guidance of detailed notes and his wife's input) I don't think I've ever been this excited about a book.  I want to know how it ends!!!  And I bet Robert Jordan is looking down from his next plane of existence and enjoying every moment.

thanks for the info and offer of the books. These days I read everything via my Kindle and the first few books are only $5.00 each so I will start from there.

I usually read everything on kindle too, but I could not pass up on a chance to get an auto-graphed copy (randomly shipped).  And, of course, want to round out my collection.

Let me know what you think.

Yes, it is worth every moment you spend with it.  I pre-ordered the last book and am anxiously awaiting Amazon's notice that it has been shipped.  And it shouldn't take you more than a month of continuous reading to get through them all.

I re-read the last three plus a "segway" short work in preparation (it ties up some loose ends that apparently are mentioned in the last book but not explained) for the last book.  If it gets here by Friday, I may spend the entire weekend reading.

/edit/ and if you'd like free copies to read, PM your address and I'll send them your way.  I have them all.

Saw a story that the last book in this long series is out today.

I have never read it and it sounds interesting but at 61 yo I am afraid I will die before I finish it.  {#Biggrin}

Is it as good as I have been hearing?  Is it worth a (rest of) a lifetime commitment?

More Facebook photos today (and tons last weekend).............the PROM photos of my friends' children. And my former third grade students. I swear they were all just kids running around the playground or in the back yard at cookouts a couple of years ago.

Amazing.

I have not re-read the series to prep for this book (like I did for the last 7) and, I'm not even halfway through yet - so far, So GOOD!

I did read a couple of Brandon Sanderson's books; "Elantris" was excellent, Alkatraz books, less so, but charming and funny nonetheless.  I think that Sanderson lacks some of the heavy dark melancholia that Jordan delivers but, he had a lot of Jordan's notes to pillage & he does well keeping Jordan's voicings intact and also he does a good job emulating Jordan's Kafka'esque plot development - I mean, I'm in no great hurry for the world to end but, I'm excited to think about what happens after it does! ;)

Back to the book...

well Brandon, if YOU like then it is worth the read.  I'll try to find a copy at half-priced books or dog-eared books locally in another week or so.

A Memory Of Light: The Official Press Release:

Tor Books is proud to announce the November 3rd, 2009 on-sale date for
