I don't argue the idea that there are more male voices on RP than female, but I do think a 50/50 split isn't possible. More importantly, I think RP does an outstanding job of keeping the balance more fair than any other music outlet with the possible exception of a few stations like KEXP. A quick look at the recent RP playlist has a dozen female names that I'm not familiar with so think those newer artists haven't landed in my conscious yet. Meaning my brain probably hasn't sorted them into genders so when I think of female artists vs All Others, the All Others column will include male singers PLUS all those bands I haven't yet gendered.
