I make modules just like that for my moving coil cartridges. In fact on my DIY MC pre-preamp I added extra rca jacks in parallel with the input jacks for plugging them in.
I'm not surprised. I added a splitter at the phono amp to accommodate the modules.
I was surprised by how much difference it makes. I expected it to be more subtle, but it's quite obvious.

For those of you listening to vinyl and using a moving magnet cartridge, check out this article on parallel resistive loading. This is some pretty cool info, especially if your cartridge seems overly bright.

Well, after the Thorens knocked the Rega out of pole position I decided to see what I could do to give the Rega a fighting chance. I put a new cartridge on the Rega a couple of months ago and battled with it for weeks until I determined the stylus was defective. The replacement stylus came in this week and finally tonight I checked it out and it's working perfectly. Dave Mason just finished rocking the office.

Thanks. I'm happy to report that the more I play it the more I come to realize what a great sounding table it is. I think it sounds better than my modern table, a Rega P3-24. The Rega is now in the office and may never make it back to the main system.
