Several places offer kiting lessons in the Gorge. Learn here, then take your skills on a vacation to SB to go tar surfing.

I picked the appropriate music, that just happened to pause at the appropriate times........accidentally.

I ought to post a few snips in real time. It's kinda mind blowing by comparison. I lived it and I still can't seem to wrap my mind around the real time version.

OMG! That is just amazing. The video Muses were with you.

Yes! Please post some real-time. And I'll stand about 15 feet from the screen.

Well, who knows? I've got a longboard I could put you on and get you used to the feel of the waves. (and no, that's not what the kids are calling it these days) {#Wink}

Wow, really? But when the music paused and the scene paused — was that totally an accident or did you plan that too?

That's amazing brain-trickery!

And FYI, the video was 100% slow motion, mostly running at half speed. There's a bit at the end at 1/4 speed. It's crazy how fast it all seems to happen in real time.

I just saw it on my Ipad, but it was very cool! I keep threatening to take up kite surfing. It would be perfect for this time of year when the swells tend to disappear from the area.

Thanks. I'm resisting kiting thus far myself, although kiters can sure do a lot with small waves and light wind.

Thanks everyone, for checking it out. Did anyone happen to watch it in full screen 720 or 1080 HD? That's how you really need to watch it.

It's funny how it doesn't look nearly as urgent in the video as it was in person. It was a pretty big day, and I've seen enough of them to know.

Bravo!! Definitely felt the intensity of the waves in this one....and loved your synchronization of the music's tempo with the speed of the film (right?).

For anyone who has yet to view this......I recommend STANDING when you watch it, about six feet from the screen. It feels more like you're the one standing on the board.

Lucky you! In fact, here's a favourite compilation from Day 2 again - can't have to much of a good thing. Good soundtrack as well....

  So you watched from shore?  I was thinking about rafting our group up and watching from our boats, but then we wouldn't get the Jumbotron and the audio.  We'll probably rendevous in Aquatic Park, dingy to shore and walk to a venue.  I can't wait!  On the bay, the winds through the slot are the strongest in August, 25 knots + steady in the afternoons is typical.  I'm tasked with finding the perfect spot to take my club.{#Stupid}
