Radio Paradise

WMVY is quite cool. Based on Martha's Vineyard, they are an independent radio station that plays an eclectic mix not unlike RP. I have listened to them since my college days on Cape Cod! That was a bunch of years before the internets. Of course, Aflanigan, being the New England native that you are must have listened to them for awhile too, right?

i remember that very, very well from my week spent there in 2001. i loved it. never thought about streaming it. wow.

But for a change, Soma.fm, groovesalad being one of their better stations, is a god listen. I listen to that station sometimes when I do yoga, because it's kind of spacey.

Some of the other Soma-FM stations are good too. I like their "Secret Agent", "Illinois St. Lounge" and "Lush" stations. It is mostly laid-back "lounge" or ambient stuff there though, which I like, but it's not for everyone.

Well there's always Radio23.org (Hint Hint) Different DJ every two hours plays live from whatever country they are in. There are DJ's from the U.S, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK as well as others. (I'm on every Monday Ten - Midnight UK Time) :-) Still waiting for SOME slots to be filled but most are now taken. Guranteed eclectic mix of music too. Tune in some time and see what you think.

Wyoming Public Radio's Morning Music (9–12 mountain time weekdays) is good a lot of the time. Sometimes it sucks. Just like everything. KEXP, especially John in the Morning. Free MP3s there too. After a long hiatus in unlistenable racket, KCPR is starting to come back. AAC or QT only. edit: also pledge week.

I know, I know, I keep pimpin it! ${#Devil_pimp}$ But there really is no more eclectic radio station regardless of output source! WUSC is basically Radio Paradise with every other genre created by humans and machines in the entire world sprinkled in! Including all world music, famous protest dissertations and speeches, crazy evangelical sermons, Hip Hop, Classical, Soundtrack, Old folk tunes since the beginning of musical recording, unsigned artist and more! {#Bananajam}

I was wondering about that. I put them on in the background, and haven't been as impressed as I was a few years ago when I first tried them. It's mostly RP when it's not dmaxRadio, honestly.

Oh, and another vote for Groove Salad. I put it on when I have guests and want something not too intrusive.
