Man, that sucks. They were never a "serious" band, kept that DIY feel all along but I know it would have been one of those shows where everyone's having a good time and when it's over the band goes to the bar and hangs out to watch the next band. We had them on our playlist at our coffeehouse eons ago but I never heard or noticed Naked Eye until I tuned into RP.
wow. that's sad. i remember them well. naked eye was the first one i heard, i think they played it on a local station when it first came out. sad to hear the news.

I only knew the band from "Naked Eye"—the video's a real hoot. "Deep Shag" is a good track, never heard it before.
It's always a shame when you discover a band or an individual after they're gone, especially in the latter case. RIP.
Damn, way too young. I obsessed about their music for a timeâwhen I first heard them (I think on RP) I immediately scored their entire catalog. I don't usually fall this hard for a band, but that impulse was well rewarded.
I completely lost track of them after they broke up, thanks for the introduction to the follow-on projects.

The mandolin duet portion (2:15) includes Ray (RIP) and the keyboard player. The drummer (in his traditional Oakland Aâs gear) is unable to play - but there he is anyway! I love this.
