I believe that if there is a God (tm) out there, he would have a strong sense of irony. If he were to meddle in human affairs, sending a person damaged by war to commit a crazy act that takes out some one who was causing prolific damage in war would seem about right. I'd like to think he would have acted sooner, but we've probably put a lot on his schedule and he's been busy.

Naw, it's historic artifacts, regardless. The junk pieces, like old nails and whatnot, no worries. But gravestones are a no-no, even if only karmically. And the native sites, burial and otherwise, are protected by Federal treaties.

But yeah, letting it all get flooded, then crying about it later, is kinda weird.

The Lower Colorado River system is similar to the Tennessee Valley system, created to reduce the catastrophic flooding that regularly happened on both rivers. Right here in Austin there were a number of dams that were entirely washed away in floods, with the concomitant property damage and loss of lives.

apparently those federal treaties didn't mention immersion. you're right: it's weird.

Looting?How can you be arrested for picking up something that the government has already been deemed so insignificant that it was allowed to be covered in 30 feet of water?{#Stupid}

 Sounds like Barney is on patrol.

Predictions indicate it could get worse. We may not get significant rain for another year or two. I don't know what's gonna happen...

I think the those global warming hippies have developed a weather machine and pointed it at Texas to provide evidence to perpetuate their one world government evil scheme, but that is just my theory.

Anyway, the next time some self-proclaimed deficit hawk tells you how much he worries about the debt we're leaving our children, remember what's happening in Texas, a state whose slogan right now might as well be "Lose the future."
