Radio Paradise

I got to help the wildlife rescue vet in Friday Harbor with a Bald Eagle once. She was wrapping its wing before sending it down to the zoo for rehab. I held one leg, another guy held the other leg, a 3rd guy kept its beak occupied with a wooden dowel, and the vet wrapped its broken wing. I also helped keep an exhausted (dehydrated?) Golden Eagle from getting killed by a pair of Red-tail Hawks until the same vet could come and catch it and nurse it back to health.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of stories of red tails mobbing goldens.

Maybe we can ask her when she comes in. And gosh, I hope it was okay to share that. From that day on, Zipper always referred to it as "the ghost's room."
