After 12 hours have passed, the cache is gone and you need to get online again.
It makes sense to me but seems like a lot of work to implement when some users only want to capture *any* 12 hours of RP so that they have something to listen to.
So anyway if you're loading up your cache as you leave home, then go to work and come home 12 hours later and want to play the cached music, that won't work.
I simply can't get this to work on my iPhone 4 or iPod touch 5,I can't even cache 4 hrs. I've been using ootunes app , a great alternative until the cache issues have been addressed. Ootunes will record radioparadise save it and then I listen at work the next day. However bill goldsmith said the developer is working on a rewrite, I don't know if he meant the recent fix, or something in the future. I would love to see this fixed. Regardless r.p. Is still the best internet station out there.

Our developer is working on a rewrite of the caching code for the iOS app. Should be ready soon. Stay tuned...

Can I suggest a mod. Have an option of minimum cache (5-10min) that lightens the load on your server and is to ensure glitch-free in wifi environment? Very tempting to slide amount to several hours despite when not going on the road. Also, the 'cancel' option on cache is misleading. Better if it was 'exit'. Cancel implies cancelling the cache option totally.
Great idea, love to see it fixed.

I am trilled about this cache idea, unfortunatly it does not work. It is an ordeal every morning trying to download. Then if I manage to download by time I get to my destination it won't play. Great concept but needs some tweaking.

Hi, I'm the developer of the app... can you please send me the log from the app? Tap (i) then Log, wait a little and then send me the email... if possible in the text part of the email give me the approximate date/time of the problem. I'll try to track it back and I'll make you know what the problem was. Thank you and sorry for the problem.

Sorry about that. I'll pass that along to our developer. I've used the cache feature extensively during our beta test, and my experience with it has been very good.

gotallie wrote:What happened to all of my Tunemarks?!!
We are discontinuing the use of Tunemarks. In the initial release of the new app we had a system in place to migrate Tunemarks to our new system (Favorites — based on song ratings & accessible from our desktop & mobile websites as well as all apps). Unfortunately, accessing the data storage system used by Tunemarks caused crashes for a large percentage of users in the new app, so we had to remove all Tunemarks support. If possible, we'll add the ability to migrate Tunemarks back into the next release. We understand that while most people who used the app never used Tunemarks, a lot of you had extensive lists that you would like to preserve. We'll try to make that possible.

We're making sure all of the bugs are out of it before we start making noise about it, but yeah, it's a pretty cool new feature.

No. It should fill immediately (limited, of course, by the speed of your connection). The time on the slider is approximate, and the time on the cache readout is exact, so there will always be a discrepancy — but not that much, I wouldn't think. I'll check on that.
