That could be cool. GoPro has several different mounts. Board mounts. A chest mount. A boom mount. A mount for the mast. The best way to get good video is to shoot from multiple locations and splice the different views together in the cutting room. I haven't gotten that far yet.
If you're trying to view it in a higher resolution that your computer or connection can't handle it might be a bit jumpy. It's a little bumpy anyway, of course, but what you're describing sounds like a video card issue. You could try a lower resolution. Dangit.....

But yeah, you'll want to hear it. I'm including the original soundtrack. Unfortunately there's a leash on the camera that makes a loud clicking sound as it rattles against the camera case, which is kinda distracting, but I can't hear it while I'm sailing. I can hear the wind and the swooshing of the board in the water though. It's interesting how quiet it gets when I turn away from the wind to surf waves, and how loud it gets when I pull out of the waves and expose myself to the wind again. I'm actually groaning in exhaustion in a couple of spots. It was a strenuous day and my arms were feeling it. You can't afford to lose your grip at these speeds in waves like this. You'll never see your equipment again. There's incentive to not f*ck up. It would not be a fun swim.

Was the parade last weekend, or this coming? Do you still have confetti matted in your hair, and pieces of eggshell?
It's this next weekend. And the confetti is usually out of my hair and ears by late August. I'd bet you have a good Solstice parade up there too?
The tar is only an occasional nuisance from natural seeps at a couple of beaches. And kelp is life! When I do my ocean swims, I just claw right over it. And no, it's never too late. SB is perfect for learning with the small summer waves.

Santa Barbara would be a great learning place. But there's no kelp or tar up here! It's never too late, right?
