I took the girls shopping the other day, and those are the clothes they make available to THEM, 10 and 11!!!!!  WTF? Harmony, my smaller, tried something on and said, "Mom, this is gross.  I look like a hoochie mama." She's not old and SHE said that, so, that made me feel a little better.  Thankfully my taller shops primarily in the boys department. OH! and they smell good!

I was recently bemoaning the Paris Hilton effect on the young gals of late. They look like hookers. Super short skirts, super high heels, too much make-up, fake nails, fake hair colour. And I'm not talking about the 18 year olds, I'm talking about the 15 year olds.

Not me. But everyone I know seems to be.

You should see the way I dress. All my clothes are ripped and worn and stained and the only coat I own is shredded and blood stained. My Mom wouldn't approve. I look pretty much homeless. But I smell good. 

My husband and I were noticing some slovenly dressing on the part of teens in Northern California the other day. They looked, I don't know how to say this nicely - dirty. I think it struck us because the kids in the desert town where we live, population 250 seem to take some pride in how they present themselves, and they are who we primarily see.  We started to wonder about things our parents had said to US about the way we dressed, and wondered if maybe we were just getting old?
