Prolly should be in the WTF thread, but hey ... Diane Sawyer was just on the O'Reilly Factor as a guest, talking about how the coming 2012 election will be covered by the MSM. Good thing no one watches, it could hurt her credibility.

An accountant friend of mine in WI told me that the state failed to re-finance the debt today. Apparently, there was a concerted effort to do so and that today was some sort of "deadline". Re-financing would have reduced some of the pressure in this whole situation and definitely saved the state some money. Instead, the likelihood that something will get rushed/pushed through just went up. It's really sad that all these leaders can't do what is best for the state and find the common ground, compromise, & move on. He's really worried that this is going to have a negative ripple effect on the economy, which is still relatively soft up there.

Media Matters has absolute credibility for me, because those folks practice real journalism, not propaganda...

and let me ad as a sidebar that Glenn Beck is such a moron that I actually enjoy watching him sometimes... he is downright funny... his big conspiracy theory is that the Egyptian revolution was caused by commies who are going to take over the world...

Thanks for the full quote. However, has Ms. Maddow or anyone disputed Gov. Walker's figures? Can anyone argue that without changes in how a CBA is conducted, we're right back where we started in short order? The definition of a 'city' varies but it is often thought of as a population north of 20,000. If we use that figure, the collective tally for US Cities in unfunded liabilities is 572 BILLION DOLLARS. Then there are the liabilities of States and of course, the Federal Government. The path is unsustainable without major changes, not the usual window dressing tucks here and there.

So why does no one disputes the figures Gov. Walker uses when discussing Wisconsin's shortfall? I can't hear or see everything that comes out of Wisconsin, like many I do have a life, but I have not heard the other side in this lengthy pissing contest state that Gov. Walker's figures are wrong. I do hear some of them state, wrongly, that cops and firefighters in WI would lose CBA rights. That's wrong, it's dishonest and it serves no purpose if a compromise might be reached. There is certainly considerable information swirling around what is taking place in WI yet again, the stated shortfall of 3+ BILLION is not being tasked. At least not that I have heard.

Rachael Maddow, darling of the Liberal's flagship, MSNBC, stated as fact that Wisconsin does not have nor does it face a budget shortfall. Odd, but in all the back and forth in Wisconsin, no one debates the budget woes that State faces. Did Mr. Kennedy call out Ms. Maddow on that lie? Nope. He's showing his myopia and his hypocrisy.
FOX recently ran through FACT/FICTION on Wisconsin, the budget woes and public union employees. No one in those unions disputes what FOX pointed out, namely the unheard of low contributions by unionized public employees to their pensions and health care plans or that a redo of CBA does not cover cops and firefighters. Perhaps Mr. Kennedy should watch what he claims is lying. Sounds like he's glued to MSNBC as a source for what FOX is reporting or not reporting or distorting or...

Yes, unfortunately it's an unnamed source (but you can read the original which mentions why that supposedly happens), though we both know the media are filled with those (unnamed officials, officials who agreed to speak on condition of anonymity, sources close to, etc.) Sometimes a journalist may have a good reason to protect the identity of a source.

But where does this (Raw Story) summary say that he is a current employee?

To summarize the rest of your post: anyone that calls Fox News biased must surely be biased as well.

PS: Another biased source has some fascinating insights on the man behind the curtain, which lets you get an idea what drives him (and it isn't necessarily conservatism, it's far worse/more pernicious).

C'mon dude, get real. It is well known that Fox has a conservative slant. Big deal, they sure don't pretend not to.

But this article that first Richard cited and now you cite has no cred. Its only propoganda. There is no named source. Without a name attached, it means nothing. It could be completely made up and there is no one to refute its accuracy. Sure, we might have emails, and I read them and they don't surprise me or concern me for that matter.

But again the source of all this is Media Matters. They are about as unneutral as any organization can be. They are dedicated to destroying views opposing their own, especially Fox. I searched MSNBC on Media Matters to see what would come up and this was the result.

Their list of most popular tags at the bottom of their web page says it all.
