Stadium will be interesting,  but maybe we can go to Vancouver to see a game.

We have a tentative (in that we have no idea WHEN under the current weird world circumstances) trip to Seattle on the books to see the Kraken play, with my brother joining us from Anchorage and my stepson from Fort Worth (and Quimby - what the hell is he called here? - has also threatened to come down as well). I'm hoping against hope that we can make this happen for a Bruins game, but East/West teams don't play quite so frequently.

Zamboni driver by day, emergency NHL goaltender by night. Dave Ayers becomes first NHL emergency goaltender to register a win!

The Leafs scored 2 goals on 3 shots against Ayers in the second period. Then couldn't score on 7 shots in the 3rd period.

It was a good clean game and though the Blues gave up way more shots than the Brus, Binnington was a wall and Rask was not.
Congrats to the team and fans, and for crissake would you guys remove the Interim from Berube’s title... Amazing turnaround, worst to first since January of this season.

{#Cheers}

We had a huge storm roll through Austin last night (wind broke one of the 40-foot trash trees in the backyard in half). Electricity went out briefly during the first period, but everything came back up pretty quickly.  Then, just as they went to first intermission, we lost cable and internet (power was otherwise fine). I'm trying to not panic or get pissy because, well, no game on the television and no internet score tracking. Fortunately, I was able to use my phone to see the play-by-play on NHL.com and was streaming the audio via a MA radio station.* This kept me sane, especially hearing the radio guys scream every time we scored a goal in the third period - four times, for those of you not paying attention. I'm certain the watch parties in New England lost their minds when Big Z scored the last goal! Then, with about two minutes left in the game, telly and internet returned.  Damned straight I watched the last two minutes of the game!

Wednesday night cannot get here quickly enough.

*Sidebar: Within the last month I've seen 1) a vehicle with a six-inch Bruins hub sticker, and 2) a vehicle with a MASSHOLE sticker.  Slowly but surely, my people are gathering to me in Austin.

Interesting stat: The Bruins have been around for 95 years and have played in the most Game 7s in NHL history (28), but this is the first one they will host.

The struggle got real... {#Frown}  A couple years ago I lost cable an hour before the Super Bowl and freaked. The next day I bought one of those supposed hundreds of channels type antennas, which actually get about 20, LOL. But they do get the local networks in an emergency, and are only $25-$30.
