Couple things ... 1. I noticed that recently the Sonos Service no longer has the Sync option. Is this by design? 2. I use the Android app on my Sony Android TV. I saw that there is a Sync to Sonos capability. That's great as it allows me to use the app with the rolling pictures in 4K and have it sync'd to RP playing on other Sonos players (or so in theory) ... - If there are 5 other Sonos players in the home, how does the app know which one to sync to? There is no choice and different players may be playing different streams - I noticed after a while that the app on the TV is no longer in sync and, indeed, seems to be playing something completely different, or, in some cases stops streaming

Great that RP is available as a service on Sonos! Any chance the flac stream will be available any time in the future? That would be awesome ðð¼
My understanding is that FLAC will be available after an upcoming Sonos firmware update. Everything is in place at our end.
I've now switched from Tunein to Sonos Radio RP Service. Seems to work a treat, but there is a plethora of choices that weren't particularly clear to me, so I've put my thoughts/experiences down here.
The Sonos Radio stations now contain and replace the Tunein RP options (Main, Mellow, Rock and Eleclectic/World mixes). I have seen somewhere that the Sonos Radio feeds are 128KBit.
The RP service provides 3 choices (128KB, 320KB and Sync). The first 2 each cover the 4 mixes above. The Sync divides into Sync 128KB and Sync 320KB options, each of which similarly cover the 4 mixes. All of the service options seem to offer the skip forward function (PSD) and skip back (to the start of the track) option.
As a longtime RP Sonos user used to having the website open on 'Track' for the info (without PSD - good for my musical education!), I can't quite get my head around how skip forward/PSD works so that things keep vaguely in sync with the website/feed. I'd appreciate it if someone could correct any misunderstandings I have made above and clarify how things keep in sync... I've since discovered that after one PSD another gives you Bill's dulcet tones, so I guess that happens when skip takes you too far adrift of the mainstream.
A FLAC feed would be nirvana, but I reckon my aging ears would filter out any benefit.
(side thread on methods for feeding FLAC into Sonos) I can currently use the FLAC feed from my PC through a Sonos:5 play analog input to stream to other units around the house, but that makes it digital (stream to PC player)-analog (PC output-Play:5)-digital (Play:5 to any other Sonos kit)-analog before it hits the ears instead of the normal single DA conversion with streaming.
A more convoluted method is by mirroring a pc to my TV and grouping the Soundbar with other units and using the digital feed from TV to Soundbar. My Sony Bravia TV browser app alas doesn't work for the RP website, which would have simplified matters!
Alternatively adding a Creative USB Soundblaster with optical digital output and feeding directly into the Soundbar or a Connect optical inputs works, but the missus tends to whinge about the birdsnest wiring effect this causes, as the Soundbar and Connect are installed away from a PC! Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Was doing some maintenance on this earlier, this should be working correctly now.

Listening to the RP Live Streams 320kb Main Mix channel this morning. I invoked it from the service itself, and not from the favorites list. It is cutting off the ends of songs a lot, and also it is repeating songs. When it is repeating, the song being displayed in the app doesn't always match what is actually playing.
I am listening to a group of five Sonos devices all on the most current software.
Is there anything else you'd like to know?
I'm seeing three channels with streams "beneath" them now. They are RP 128kb, RP 320kb, and Sync. What is "Sync"?

I have the same question regarding "RP 320kb" vs "RP Live Streams 320kb".
ALSO
I'm frequently experiencing transitions to the next song 5-10 seconds before the current song ends. (Songs are getting cut off just before the end.) Is there anything I should try?
Thanks!
Is that on the 'favorites' mix?
It's the Main Mix. I do have it set up as a Favorite, but I'm not sure whether it's the Main Mix that's under the "RP 320kb" channel or the "RP Live Streams 320kb" channel.

Hi Bill and all other posters, Loving being able to hear RP on my Sonos setup. However, I would like to know what is the difference between the "RP 320kb" and "RP Live Streams 320kb" in the Music Source menu in Sonos.
Cheers, Alfred from Brisbane Aust.

Sonos debuted their streaming radio service, Sonos Radio yesterday. All of the Radio Paradise streams, inclusing the main stream are available there. I guess I can delete the TuneIn app off my system now. RP sounds great this way, BillG. Thanks for making it happen.
wow
looks like the price is right too
makes a peep want to grab a couple of those speakers...
I love our Sonos system. I got it 2-3 years ago to replace a Bose system that dated back to 2003. We used the Sonos Connect then, to stream stuff. I finally bought a Sound Pad, Sub, and two Sonos Ones. We already had one Sonos One, which now resides in the kitchen. We stream SiriusXM, Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Prime Music, our iTunes libraries, and now RP more easily than before. The Sonos is also a great Surround system for watching TV and movies.

Weâve been listening to RP on Sonos through Tunein for a while now, including the various streams options. I thought I heard you mention today that the âskip forwardâ option will be available, but I donât see that the button has been activated in my controller. is there a trick to getting it activated?
Thanks so much for everything!

Then find us on the list.
If you have a Sonos One, make sure to click the 'add' link underneath 'music & content'.
I'm confused. I don't see RP on the Sonos list of services

I love that I can add Radio Paradise as a "Music Source" on Sonos now. I can now skip the (very few) songs when I want to. Nice work! I increased my monthly contribution. Thank you.
I would like to add a comment about something I miss now â I feel disconnected from the live stream. I visit the RP website frequently (multiple times a day) based on what I'm hearing in the moment. But because I pause overnight, now my playlist falls behind the live list by several hours, then more hours behind after more pauses, etc. It is harder for me to connect with the information and comments on the song I'm hearing.
When I resume play in the morning, I would not mind if the next song (or within the next few songs, or next hour) if my playlist picked up where the current "live" playlist currently is. Then I would stay better connected with the RP info/community, plus I'd have a skip feature. I don't think a casual listener would notice that the playlist "jumped" ahead to the front of the queue.
That's pretty much exactly how our system has been set up to operate since an update over the weekend. Once you've paused for more than 5 minutes, and if you're not ahead of the 'live' point (due to skipping), then playback will re-sync with what's playing live. It's working as expected for almost everyone, though I think there might be a Sonos-specific glitch.
