As I make more frequent trips to Missouri to take care of my mother, I find myself listening to more and more Podcasts to kill the time. Dug up this thread, because I didn't see anything current. Rough list of the ones I do.

This American Life - The granddaddy of them all. Often just listen to the stream which randomly plays from their 500+ episodes.

Radio Lab - More sciencey, but managens to be interesting and relavent.

Sound Opinions - music podcast out of Chicago. Some are interesting,

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - Stumble on it when Colbert mentions it in his Late Show podcast - Pretty fascinating stuff on the Genghis and "Wrath of the Khans". Other history podcasts were rather bland in comparison.

Naturist Living - Something I used to do.

What you got downloading?

If you are a fan of the tv show GLEE, the Gleeful Podcasts are a hoot. Josh, Jenn, and Ed discuss each weeks episodes and I like thier take on things. Just some silly fun after a rough day at work.

Educating Esme was one of the best hours of radio I've listened to in a long time — engaging, funny, thoughtful — and it's part of the remarkably eclectic Hearing Voices NPR series, which is available as a podcast.  Local producer Jay Allison does amazing work.

*BUMPAROONIE*

Appears that the first part of this thread got borken, maybe in the recent server issues, but in any case . . . well, anybody got any good (current) podcast suggestions?  I've gone through my back stock of a couple of years of Scientific American's, and Fresh Air is great but not enough.  Ideas?
