Although "imperceptible" is one word that springs to mind whilst watching....interesting technique, though. They seem to be doing a good job of it. I guess the hardest thing to know is if it is lodged on the rock and will suddenly pop up or slip when it becomes free.

fuzzy wrote:A 5c piece? You don't mean a 10c piece? Because that's what the Bluenose is on. It's practically the Bluenose III, but they can't call it that because they're using a few parts of the old Bluenose II. Rules and regulations, eh. From what i understand (and i could be wrong), they don't take on passengers: http://www.bluenose2.ns.ca/Legacy/FAQ.html Sorry, I did mean 10c. Apparently they do take people sailing: "What does the Bluenose II do? Voyages to various Canadian and US ports are used to promote Nova Scotia tourism and trade development. In the summer months Bluenose II visits festivals and events at seaports around Nova Scotia, and provides unique public sailings and charters."

fuzzy wrote:The 'new' Bluenose II Wow! If she's going to be taking passengers sailing you'd better tidy your guest room I had a great evening with some Canadian musicians last year, and got presented with a 5c piece by Joan Besen as her partner, I think, has been working on the Bluenose II.

Took the sprogs to Mattiscombe yesterday and were treated to Queen Mary II passing Start Point on her way up channel to Southampton from New York. Shame she was a few miles offshore. Maybe not as elegant as her predecessors, but better than most modern behemoths. Still a cruise liner rather than a cruise ship. Queen Mary

The modern warships produced by the USA have very weird superstructures because of their design to absorb radar and become "invisible" to most naked viewing. But they seem to make the ship look very ungainly.

A roll or two each weekend and it's really starting to fill up.
