Considering this movie was made 19 years before the fist man on the moon in 1969,it's pretty awesome and may have done much to inspire the real thing. The story was written by Robert Heinlein and is fairly accurate science, barring what was learned through actual experience.
 
I find it interesting that the harmonica music was the same song sung in a Star Trek episode called "the naked time" by Ensign Riley. I wonder if there is/was some connection.
