Yes, no, yes and only if you want them to reproduce. We don't care if they reproduce so roosters are not neccesary but they can never guarantee you won't get any. At present, we have 3. I would miss the crows though if we didn't have roosters, I really love rooster crows. One of them tree hops to a tree all the way up by the house and lets it be known every morning that he is king! {#Lol}
