I am sure he just did what all the other self respecting despots do when they are in this position; moved all of the women and children into his compounds as he and his cronies move into the residential neighborhoods. That way the coalition kills innocents while they get off scott free. Why our leaders don't see this ploy or ignore it is beyond me.
It's well known he "never spends the night in the same place twice" (presumably because he's so popular with his people), and indeed does a lot of camping, so trying to get him would be insane. With the no-fly zone now in force, a him being shown that moving his tanks around is suicidal, there really shouldn't be any more bombing - it's up to the Libyan people now - as outlined in the UN mandate.
Tripoli, Libya (CNN) — The heart of Moammar Gadhafi's compound in Tripoli lay in shambles Monday following bombing by the United States and its allies, prompting a debate about whether the allies were trying to kill the Libyan leader.
I think he's camping...

Welcome to the new world where the US follows instead of leads. Libya is where we get our first view.
Obama sat back and waited for everyone to ask the US for help, rather than step up and do what was inevitable and proper. The rebels were at the outskirts of Tripoli and the US wavered allowing Qa-daffy to beat them back to the Egyptian border and almost totally defeat them. Had the no fly zone been implemented when the rebels were about to take Tripoli, the desired result of this no fly zone would probably already have been accomplished, the ouster of Qa-daffy. A real leader would have seen the opportunity and recognized that timing is everything and acted, without hesitation. We are now doing what should have and could have been done, but three weeks too late. So why bother ?
I've already stated that the US should do nothing, but the rest of the world is not capable of standing up for itself without the US. As we are now seeing, the free western world does not have the military capabilities to take over for the US. The US has capabilities no other military has and is needed despite claims of otherwise. Now a missile from an unknown source, said to be British has hit one of Qa-daffy's palaces in Tripoli. The UN mission specifically exempts Qa-daffy from being targeted. We now have loose cannons literally, doing things that are unauthorized and uncoordinated because the US is taking a back seat, instead of leading.
Get used to this new picture, that of the US following and voting present on events instead of being decisive. The bulk of Obama's votes in the US Senate were present instead of yeah or nay. He refuses to commit, he refuses to lead. He would rather play golf (61 rounds to date) or pick the winner in the NCAA basketball tournament than lead the world. Get used to it.
The US has gone from somewhat reliable and predictable to totally unreliable and whimpy. This is what everyone who voted for Obama wanted. You got what you voted for, enjoy.
A lot. But there's never a shortage of cash when it comes to weapons.
Apparently each cruise missile costs $500,000, so with 112 of the buggers launched tonight that's a pretty good day for the "defence" industry.
But in the meantime in Bahrain, Yemen and Syria revolutions are being crushed. Saudi Arabia sending troops being invited into Bahrain
Its target practice time for the Tomahawks. We will know what to expect out of them when the time comes to use them against a formidable target.
I still remember the opening of the first Gulf War when the CNN guys were holed up in that hotel in Baghdad. I think it was Bernard Shaw who basically said, Holy Sh*t that missile just turned on a dime and went around the hotel and kept on going. Our stuff is actually battle tested, unlike most armed forces.
Yeah, but the maintenance contract sucks. Oh, wait.....
do you suppose the new improved Blackwater...er I mean...Xe has that contract as well? Man they have really raked in the bucks since we hired them for the 2 other wars. I heard their owner moved to Switzerland.
