I briefly considered seeing the traveling juke box called The Rolling Stones one more time. June 2nd in Minneapolis.  But $395 each for good seats in a stadium soon put an end to that...thankfully.

So Jack White has announced that he's doing 5 acoustic shows in the 5 states he's never played... but hasn't said what states those are. Wyoming is a leading contender, tho... but we're assuming he'll miss our corner by about 500 miles. Anyway, the shows will be announced at 8 a.m. day of... tix on sale at noon, one per customer, $3.

And while I was pondering that, a friend posted on facebook that he and his wife were going to a "secret" show... pay $10, see who the performer is. At a club that holds maybe 200 people. It's Neil Young (& Crazy Horse? not sure but it's a plugged-in set).

Wow to both possibilities.

Very cool about Jack White and $3. Looks like Oregon won't make that list. He did cause quite a ruckus in SE Portland, though, when he appeared at a laundromat in some unassuming neighborhood and did an acoustic couple of songs while gobs of people who got the word by text (from the Alt-rock station in town) left work early and jumped on buses and MAX trains to get there before it was over.

And the Neil Young show...wow. If secret, cheap, acoustic shows are the new normal...bring it!

Looking at the video they all look to be about 16 years old...Hard to believe they are twice that and older. Very talented ladies for sure, thanks for sharing.

Saw them earlier this month. A nice solid show, except for Becker's clunky persistent "soloing." They had some crack musicians there, especially the drummer who killed his part in Aja. Fagen was in fine voice, but channeling Ray Charles as he played keys.

This tour's "Can you recognize it?" tune was "Show Biz Kids." Had no idea what it was until a  few minutes in.
It was weird to see the crowd respond the most to "My Old School" instead of so many others that were more popular.

And, contrary to the sets preceding them (each night seems different), they played "Green Earrings," which has gone from studio boring to an exemplar of The Groove when played live.

A great show, particularly since I'd never seen them before.

when i first saw them back in 1992, i think, they opened with green earrings, which has always been my favorite of theirs. it was magical.
