"There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved." ~ C. Darwin

I'd love to see some evidence of other life in the universe (outside our little corner) in my lifetime.

Ivan Dies At 50: A Gorilla Life, Remembered
Ivan spent decades confined within a small department store display, until activists won the gorilla's transfer to a zoo.

We miss a lot, imo, when not becoming more involved in the diversity of life around us.  The wonders of life, interacting, existing on the well known pale blue dot that Earth is, on the outskirts of an average galaxy—-just one of hundreds of billions (that we know of).

Primates are special as evolutionary relatives. Dolphins, elephants and many other species openly indicate a sentience of their world... and us. But to me the whole spectrum of life from the microbial to the giant vertebrate cetacea (whales and their relatives) is both an accidental miracle and perhaps unique.but who knows?  Through the universe Life may be as common as dust?
