Marr(Houston (dreaming of Austin))If it is made with the same ingredients by someone who knows how to cook and loves what they're doing does it really matter where it was made? OK, here was the problem. the Joe Strummer title is in a table that was way too wide. it was easy to fix when you preview, you see the table border. just grab the end and drag it in Thanks Grayfin for narrowing it down.

It was actually a table with a width of 1326... check the screeny out (sorry for the tiny size, but I didn't want to make the image too big and have my contribution be ironically page-breaking): Phineas pulled in a quote from somewhere ELSE in the site, and that is where the weird table was... Not sure how that happened, but it might help to find out where the "Marr" quote came from. Edit: Actually, here's the original: http://www.radioparadise.com/content.php?name=Music&file=songinfo&song_id=30759&start=0 and it looks good. Even more, if you look at that page (and most others) it's a LOT narrower. We just finally reached the limits of the outer table in dealing with that width with that "1326" width table. So... somehow that width got in to the quote between the cut and paste. Its sort of a hazard we have to live with if we want to be able to continue to embed HTML in our posts (some sites that's is strictly forbidden). I like that feature and hope minor issues like this don't sour people on it.

I love this thread! Funny stuff here, especially the comments responding to the newbie RPeeps that are fascinated by the repeats in the playlist. I have to confess that I did a bit of that when I first came here. I thought I was a frickin' genius for pointing that out. The older I get the stupider I realize I am.....

In Ray Charles "I got a woman" nate917 wrote: Hello, I'm Alistair Cook, and welcome to All Lyrics Considered. Today, we consider the cryptic phraseology of "Tutti Frutti." As our opus commences we are informed that the minstrel's "gal named Sue," possibly a pseudonym for Rudy, is somewhat vexatious in that, although she "know just what to do," she manifests her intentions to both east and west, confounding her suitor to the point where he utters the curious incantation, "a-wop bop a loo-wop a-lop bam boom." After these words from your local public television station, we'll look more closely at this lyrical lament, in an episode that we've entitled "Aw Rudy."
btw... who borked the board?

SanFranGayMan, in a comment about The Moody Blues' Nights in White Satin, wrote: Quite edifying reading how this song/group has spanned the ages. Makes one realize that music is of time and place—and age. And how dif it's impact and meaning is over time. For many of us around when this was new, it was college time, war in Viet Nam, mind expanding drugs and the period of self-discovery—tinged with great angst about who we were, who this nation was, and a LOT of disillusionment about all that we had been fed as to what "society" was as children. That had to be all blown up and started over again—no comfortable concepts to fall back on. Drugs helped expedite the growth, if one could manage them (like everything else in life I've discovered). The Moodies, and so much of the music of the late 60s and early 70s was a refuge for us—mental salve if you will—and a great way to ponder what was real and what was "plastic", or unreal, phony, etc. The Moodies conveyed the "real", and it was in fact real, and they took us into ourselves, allowed us to re-construct our self-concepts and who we were.
The lyrics may sound corny to some of you, and I understand that, but time has allowed me to see the contextual nature of music. It is fascinating to realize that while some of you were making out to the Moodies and having a big ole time, I was writing letters to my parents (never meaning to send) about why I would not go to Viet Nam if drafted. Red is gray to them, and yellow white, but I had to decide which was right for me, and I was not going...
