So.  How do I make it loop??  I can't find an answer on the internets anywhere.

The animation is currently in "timeline mode".  Does it have to be in "frame mode" to loop?

Anyone use Adobe Lightroom? For what? How easy is it to learn?

When we first got our MacBooks back in October, I downloaded the 30 day trial. I was impressed with the program. Lots of the stuff you can do with photos in PS, you can do in LR. But not everything that I like to use. So I didn't buy it. I went ahead and bought PS CS4.

The photos I took in Paris at the end of October, and posted in the Photo topic here, I processed in LR. You can see them all in a set on my Flickr stream.

 hey hippiechick..
wow..no one responded to this one...i will give it a crack..
i downloaded the 30 day trial, and it wasn't really that hard to use, and has some powerful tools..
i am used to using phase one's capture one program, and its not as easy  as that..but i think once
you get the hang of it, it should be fine..
depends what you want it for. it is designed for pro photogs who manage thousands of images
so it is a decent product...
i would say check out the free trial and aperture if you have a mac and make a decision...
and you could check out the phase one product...its cheaper and its good.

also you can check out the photoshop user tv podcast on itunes...its free, and  lots of tips..

just for the record i didn't buy it, stuck with phase one...
you can probably get a trial on that too...

good luck.

just open the image..

do the.. image..mode..8bits per channel..
then
go to image..image size
in the dialog box;
you can choose inches or pixels..
enter the appropriate sizes..
make sure the resample image box is ticked
and constrain proportion box is ticked..
enter the dimensions and
press ok..
then File...save as...
change to some other name so you don't lose your original.

Thank you.  I actually had it correct, but there is so much info I am trying to cram into my brain right now that I wanted to be sure.

Muchas Gracias. {#Notworthy}

I'm a real newbie to PS.  I've scanned some negs @ 1200 DPI  and saved them as TIF files.  I've started making changes to the images and want to save as a JPG file.  When I go to "save as", why doesn't JPG show up as an option?  FWIW, I've been cropping at 300dpi for these (soon to be) JPG images.

you will need to change to 8 bit
go to Image....Mode....8 bits...
then
Image...Image Size...
enter the sizes...and the dpi
Save As jpg...
should be good.

Yep. The tiffs are 16 bit files. You need to convert them to 8 bit before saving as jpegs.

Might be a good idea to save a copy of the full-size, hi-res tiff, then start mucking about on what you have.

Usually if there are layers involved, as greenchili mentioned.

What version of PS are you using?  I just checked on my version of CS3.  Once you go into the "save as" routine, it will default to whatever you sucked up to begin with.  Once in the "save as" routine, you will see a option for "format".  If you click there, you should get a whole raft full of options listed.   Mine version of CS3 (for windows) is showing the JPEG option right in the middle of the pack.  This assumes you have merged all of you layers etc.  You have done that, right?  I have not found the dpi to make a difference when saving to jpg.
