Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. London, Ontario. Had to be 1971 or 1972. At a little place called Wonderland Gardens, where there was a walking trail, a community pool, outdoor seating for dinner, right by the river. We sat on the floor, roped away from the band - but they were within a few arms' lengths from the front. I remember they trashed their equipment at the end, probably finishing with Lucky Man. I remember that huge gong.
probably around 1972, WFIL Night at Veterans' Stadium. it was a Phillies baseball game with the show after. The Grass Roots played. I was 12 or 13 and my dad took us.
my first real concert was in 1974, Bob Dylan and the Band. it was the Before the Flood tour. it was awesome!
1969 (it might have been 1970) - Iron Butterfly with warm up band Black Oak Arkansas and some acoustic guy who exploded a painted up 5 gallon water bottle calling it the "bottle of love". It was in the college gym @ Athens, Alabama. We brought blankets and sat on the gym floor - right in front of the sound board. Pretty f****** good 1st concert.

The first concert I ever went to was Linda Ronstadt at the Universal Amphitheater on November 3rd, 1976. I was ten years old and my Mom and Stepfather took me and my brother along. It wasn't what I would have picked but looking back it was pretty cool. The first concert I chose to attend was The Police, along with Oingo Boingo at the Inglewood (Los Angeles) Forum in February 1982. It was the Ghost in the Machine Tour for the Police and Oingo Boingo was touring behind their Gray Matter album. Now that was an awesome show!

The Rolling Stones in the local Stadium 1982 (I was 13).
My mother declared her son for old enough and bought two tickets for us. Support were the guys from J.Geils Band and I shall never forget that they started to play 'Centerfold' when we entered the inner area of the stadium.
Grand Funk Railroad - Tempe Diablo Stadium - 1975ish
The next one was A Star is Born concert 1976 in Sundevil Stadium, Started about 8 am. I can't remember all the acts but I do remember Montrose, Santana, Streisand, Kristofferson, and the headliner Peter Frampton. They shot concert scenes for the movie. Hehe I saw the movie for the first time recently. It was pretty good. Loved Streisand's wardrobe.

Wow how cool...I took my then 8 year old son to see Pink Floyd...Would have loved to have seen S and G...I think mine was Neil Diamond in 1969...I was 16.
I saw S&G in about 1970, when they were still playing. I saw them in one of those music tents, where there couldn't have been more than 3000 people.
