Wouldn't want to give it away. Recall, also, that the debate about whether whales are fish or mammals occupied an entire chapter of the book. So the word "fish" was a bit of a clue.

That's probably his best.  The later ones seem like more of the same but not as well written or engaging - well, to me anyhow.

I like that quote. I haven't read any of that author's novels. I think I'll start with this one.

Movie trivia: I believe that book makes a "cameo appearance" in a diner scene in Scorsese's After Hours.
