I sat by the ocean and drank a potion, baby to erase you.
Face down in the Boulevard, yet I couldn't face you.
There ain't no use in crying. It doesn't change anything,
So baby what good does it do?
Your friends, they all sympathize.
Maybe, I don't need them too.
Imagine I'd be your one and only
Instead I'm the lonely one
You, me and a lie.
Silence is closer.
We're passing ships in the night.
There's nowhere to run away.
Said,
"Boy if you want love, you'll have to go and find it with someone new."
"Do you know who you really are? Are you sure it's really you?"
Lies are a funny thing.
They slip through your fingertips because they never happened to you.
Time wounds all the heals as we fade out of view.
Imagine I'd be your one and only
Instead I'm the lonely one
You, me and a lie.
Silence is closer.
We're passing ships in the night.
You, me and a lie.
Silence is closer.
We're passing ships in the night.
Into the night,
Left with nowhere to hide.
Closer and closer.
We're crashing ships in the night
Face down in the Boulevard, yet I couldn't face you.
There ain't no use in crying. It doesn't change anything,
So baby what good does it do?

Well, someone at RP is rockin' out with Soundgarden, Masters of Reality and the Queens all in one morning mix --- loving every second of it, here's a big thank you.
And then discovered that Kyuss is not in the RP music library. So for the person responsible for this particular mix: it would be most marvellous when Kyuss would come flying by some dreary Monday morning as well. Just saying...

I STILL LOVE THIS, and cranking this at a good altitude sure makes me crave hearing the new jams I've heard on RP from their In Times New Roman again on RP!

Off topic for a moment, I think it's fair to say that Fred was an asshole. It would have been refreshing to hear Wilma, Barney, or even Betty call him that from time to time to put him in his place.
Yes I'm sure Hanna-Barbera had that plot development all lined up for the kiddies.
As has been discussed on RP before, The Flintstones was a deliberate adaptation of "The Honeymooners." Everyone knew Ralph Kramden could be an asshole but somehow the show succeeded without Alice and Norton dropping the A-bomb on Ralph.

Fred was flawed but not an asshole. My guess/memory is that he was deliberately created/shaped to be a cartoon version of Ralph Kramden (played by Jackie Gleason) in "The Honeymooners." Both characters could be loud, pushy and arrogant but they always eventually came to their senses and apologized for their boorish behavior.
But hey, take the quiz and decide for yourself:
Can you tell the difference between Fred Flintstone and Ralph Kramden? Did this happen on The Honeymooners or The Flintstones?

Decent 'unplugged' version:

The post below is bitter guff, though.

That's because we're uncool. And while women will always be a problem for us, most of the great art in the world is about that very same problem. Good-looking people don't have any spine. Their art never lasts. They get the girls, but we're smarter. Yeah, great art is about conflict and pain and guilt and longing and love disguised as sex, and sex disguised as love...
Well said.

Now that's some gunny shit. Growing up watching the Flintstones I always thought of Fred as a prehistoric Don Rickles.
There's something about "desert rock" that feeds my soul. I don't know why? And there's no mistaking Josh's guitar tone. Very unique.
nice

Yeah! QOTSA after Van Halen. There are still great guitarists out there.
My favorite album of the 21st century so far.
Bill! Play more QOTSA! Especially off of Villans.
Nice to hear stuff like this here within the mix of everything else.

Another 9 to 10 for Lockdown Times.
Favourite album
Great, tasty groove, โthese guys know how to bring it!
It took me sum time to warm up to this....But I like sum strange every now & then & this is that.
One of those bands (like Death Cab for Cutie) whose name confounds me when presented with what I imagine I'll hear versus their actual music.
This one also keeps having me expect them to break into Bowie's 'New Killer Star' - near identical guitar riff.
Hey, it's my divorce song! 10+++
Heute ist das Programm sehr Gut (bis jetzt)
love this album. such a shame Mars Volta kicked out Jon from the band. But he did a great favor to QOTSA \m/
From a 5 to an 8. It's just hitting me.

The entire album is really pretty good. I paid ~$50 for the double album 45 speed vinyl set and have not regretted it. Industry pundits all gave it good review as well.
Here is a funky official video of "If I only had a tail" from the same album.

It rocks and swings - it's gotta good beat, you can dance to it.

This is one of those tunes that seems to remind me of another tune and another time, but damned if I can remember what or when. College radio in the late 80s comes to mind though. All in all not a bad song from the southern California desert.

Pop music that rocks, or rock'n roll that pops. Definitely what I like!

I just saw most of this outfit with Iggy Pop. It was a rock'n show to say the least.

I have a friend who plays me these guys sometimes and he plays me stuff that really rocks. I think it goes without saying he does not play this.

I really like this quite a bit — edgy but very listenable. (Thinking they would not like that comment too much.) Probably the best cut on this album.

Darn, sure wish I could figure out a play-on-demand type-a dealio here, this song always gets me in the mood to do some work around here.

feel the good hit of the summer!Saw them on ACL recently..... they ROCK and I really like their sound. It seemed at times like the Cure meets Metallica. Different in a good way.
Can't put my finger on why, but I'm liking this just now.
Not one of their better tunes in my view

I am enjoying this song at this point in my life.....
You could drop this song into the movie Dazed and Confused and it would fit perfectly!
Rocks!!
No, not really - this just isn't that special. Meh.

Nice riffs..
8->9. I'm very happy when I hear the first bars. <Edit> Such a wonderfully crunchy riff.
A solid 7 from the get go. Nice.
incredibly shrill, and annoying.....
Feel good album of the summer.
YEAH, baby, yeah! All kinds of things going on here. I worship that gnashing Cars/ Smithereens-style guitar that cuts through the shimmering shell of drumbeats, and whoah I really dig how they blend the vocals, and the whole thing swings, soars and ROCKS
I'll have to echo the 70's vibe sentiment that's been established in the comments here. When I first heard it playing, I thought it was an old Fleetwood Mac song that I had never heard before. I like it!
I like it! It has a 70's Feel!
I like this but it's messy...all over the place
Tasty!
That's some solid stuff right there.
I echo these sentiments.
