sparrow and wolf lay as still as the blades of the grass
like worn leather boots, of colour and size that would last
caught them a lark in a trap, and each held a wing
then they tore it apart, before that small bird could sing
confused by the wind, bruised by the size of the rain
she turned in to him, begged for the light to remain
but plans have been made, all the furniture sold
so store up your hate, use it for warmth when you're cold
for I have seen no joy, only danger,
I see no joy, only strangers,
I see no joy, see no joy in this world
should you, choose to go, please be careful of,
lonesome roads, men who travel them,
will not know, will not know of your ways
still I have, seen no joy, only dangers, I
see no joy, only strangers, I
see no joy, see no joy in this world,
you should choose to go, please remember what
you have learned, from the little bird,
always dear, always dear to my heart

Sounds like a beard, flannel shirt, rolled up jeans and some sort of button up vest...
I remember hair metal and how those guys all looked and sounded the same...until Nirvana came along and blew them all up. Hoping that sort of event comes along again soon...

The head of security in my trailer park just wanted to mention that Bon Iver sounds like four guys with their nuts tied together so they can try to hit the notes, while this Irish guy seems to be hitting them all without rope.

Gorgeous album.
Pretty ok. Pretty good. Pretty.
CLASSIC US-KITSCH!!
A murder of sparrow and a shrewdness of wolf
still do not make a good song!
This song deserves a better rating on here. Come on, people! -_-
Love this!
Whole album is excellent!

Discovered this guy through RP....was so blown away, when I found out he was coming to T.O. I made sure to go to his show....people there were totally enamoured of him...great to see such a talented artist at the start of his career....I wish I'd made the time to go see Ray Lamontagne at Massey Hall in TO before he got so huge.
Auto tune?

Dude take a funny bow
Just saw him perform in NYC at small venue. He has a really powerful voice live, and the band is strong, enjoying themselves and all in all just a great concert experience. I would go see him now...before all his songs are in the credits to Grey's Anatomy.....

Whoever he's listened to he's done it well. Good, solid tune. Get's an 8 from me.
