I still don't know what I was waiting for
A big love to fall down from the sky
She took my hand and picked me up off the floor
She put an apple in my eye

I said I'm tired
Come get me off the merry-go-round
I'm wired
Come feed me and then bring me down

She come up to me
I can't remember what she said
'Cause I was in a trance and I forgot it all
Bangin' on about all that
Revolution in her head
She make a lover seem so magical

She said I'm tired
Come get me off the merry-go-round
I'm wired
Well heaven must have sent you
To save me from the rapture yeah

I'm tired
Come get me off the merry-go-round
I'm wired
Come feed me and then bring me down

Lay my soul on the ground
Like a million more that have me down

five to one, baby, one in five...
Five to One Baby...One in Five....
Surprisingly low rating. I like a good basic beat!
Thought this was Dave Grohl singing & a Foo Fighters song at first.
Peter James Bond That was totally cool I especially miss Jerry Garcia

I'm sure you meant to type The Doors when you types The Beatles. If the beginning of this song and the entire drum beat is not a complete rip-off of "Five to One," I will eat my hat.

One more "boo" from me for Oasis.

It's a rudimentary drum beat; it was not invented by The Doors, but Oasis was clearly borrowing heavily from "Five To One" for this song.   "Complete rip-off"?  "Lawsuit?"  No, not really: standard drum beats are not protected by copyright laws and the chords to this song are completely different. Do you want some hot sauce or some other condiment to put on your hat?
Being unfamiliar with both this and the Doors tune, and a fan of neither, I thought I'd give them a listen and compare.  If the first 4 notes of a song are the same, and it reminds you of another song, that doesn't mean it's a copy.  Also it sounds like this one has more than one chord, and doesn't suck.
Lenny Kravitz called.

Sounds like Beetlebum from Blur to my ears.
It seems like The Pixies {#Wave}

I saw Jim at Sal's the other day. Said his buddy Burton was buying him lunch.

This latest album is reminding me why I was SO in to these guys in the 90s... I think they've really hit on the energy they had back then.

Not to mention the Lennon estate for that riff from Cold Turkey.

I don't know the reason people are down on this band, I think it's a good tune.

shameless, these prats are.  pretty sure the only original creation that they have within them is the BM they produce each morning...ponderous how "we" have afforded them a life of extravagance based on their baseless portfolio.
5 to 1 baby, 1 and 5.
no one here gets out alive

god, these guys blow!!!  they don't even try to hide the fact that they rob riffs.
I'm ashamed to like the new Oasis stuff, but it seems the boys might have become men...
the starting riff is robbed form The Doors {#Skull}
At first I thought some one was covering 5 to 1.  Then it went on.  Never heard this before, OK if I never hear it again.  Never made a negative song comment before, but this one goes against the grain.

I pretty much gave up on Oasis a long time ago (Love Morning Glory). But everything I've heard here off of this CD is pretty good. May have to give them another chance...
On nearly every Oasis you can transparently hear the particular songs they're borrowing from. Sometimes it works, this is one of the better ones I guess.
Is anyone else picking up the blatant rip off of Jim Morrison/The Doors 'five-to-one'? I liked Oasis better when they had their own sound....{#Rolleyes}

Mmmh, not a big Oasis fan but this is rather good actually.

Eh, it's just okay.
If Oasis is waiting for the rapture, does that mean next they'll be ripping off Blondie? 'Cause the man from Mars is through with cars, and now he only eats guitars!
I usually get dry heaves from Oasis, but this one is staying down for some reason.

This one is growing on me. Oasis is such an enigma; this one sounds like Michael Hutchence on vocals. Of course, they still evoke the Beatles with that little "Cold Turkey" guitar riff. Never boring.

Everytime I hear this song I seem to like it a little more, but that might be because each time I get excited because I think it's the Beatles in the beginning
Hmm... no, still not working for me. 2.
Never really got into Oasis. This doesn't help. 4
This sucks, I am so disappointed.

Last night I listened to this album, then their first one. Still like the first one better, but this one's pretty good too.

Yeah, I had the same reaction—parts of Maggie McGill had that driving beat too IIRC. Not a bad song, reminds me of INXS before Hutchence died—"Full Moon, Dirty Hearts" , fr'instance.

I'm liking this one more each time I hear it.
What an appropriate song for a Friday afternoon.
I'm tired and drinking coffee to finish work when I could be drinking my first Friday beer.{#Cry}

6 => 7

I'm starting to prefer Noel's vocals over Liam's.

Listener comment of the month.

Objective thought is in far too short supply in 2008.

I LOVE these guys.  This song, not so much.

Not bad for an Oasis track - still sounds like the beatles, but less like Oasis {#Lol}.  and I like the bass line!
Wow, my speaker was low then i thought it was WHAM! -wake me up B4 you go-go intro part of the song ....
Oasis = pretentious mofos, sorry ..

OScar
The Doors - 5 to 1?
I am really digging their new stuff!
<3 love it Bill...Thanks for playing on the release date!
This is Great on a first listen!!

I saw Oasis in concert years ago, they were overrated, but heck, talented fer sure!
The bassline is pretty heavy handed.
