At summit talks you'll hear them speak
It's only Monday
Negotiations breaking down
See those leaders start to frown
It's sword and gun day
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late
You could be sitting taking lunch
The news will hit you like a punch
It's only Tuesday
You never thought we'd go to war
After all the things we saw
It's April Fools' day
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late
You hear a whistling overhead
Are you alive or are you dead?
It's only Thursday
You feel a shaking on the ground
A billion candles burn around
Is it your birthday?
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late
Make tomorrow come, I think it's too late
A mate took his dog to the vets to get him (the dog) 'done', after which he renamed the dog Tomorrow, because Tomorrow never comes :o)

CORRECT.
And the sampling is from the song '52 Girls' by the B-52s, not 'Rock Lobster', Baby M.
Also bass line from The Cure (Close to me)
Somewhere deep on a darkened Japanese dance floor, this song really did the trick.
Thank you again RP for broadening the auditory horizons and supplying hot air to the blow-horns abound. I equate the judgements to every time the Olympics come around and suddenly everyone is an expert, would love to hear the haters attempts to do something similar.
This works! I'm not generally sold on mashups but this takes the old B-52s tune in a completely new direction.
I realize most people won't peer deep enough into the Shadow catalog to appreciate/understand this song...and I won't say I love it, but RP gets major props for breaking stride on/with this one. Shadow is really an incredible musician. Humble to boot.
Don't hate on Shadow for this song. BTW - It's called a "sample"...not a rip-off. Thousands and thousands of musicians over the centuries have built entire careers around samples.
I sooo don't hate RP for playing shit my ass has never heard before. What the hell is WRONG with some of you?
This isn't "Rock Lobster." It isn't even good enough to be the melted butter I dip my Rock Lobster in.
LMFAO

None of your rationalizations will make this sound good.

Sounded like the B 52s for a moment...
I wonder why... 🤔
Tomorrow never comes,
Tomorrow never comes,
Tomorrow never comes,
Tomorrow never comes,
Tomorrow never comes,
Tomorrow never comes,
Tomorrow never comes,
Tomorrow never comes,
SHAT UP!
Tomorrow never comes,

DJ Shadow just made my guy sh*t his pants :-O

Open your ears, open your souls!
And yet they apparently are. Which is how you know you're incorrect.
Uh, It's called sampling...
Perhaps -but definitely on the Main Mix
Love the lower, menacing "original", but this a groovy alternative.

I stand corrected, Scott. Thanks for the additional info. It's funny, but when this song just came on I went to my computer to look it up. I told myself that I wanted to figure out who was doing this mash up because I liked it. Little did I know that 14 years ago I commented on it. It's tough getting old and forgetful. But then again, everything is new again when you don't remember it from before, right? :)
WHAT, Sonny?
I know this comment is 13 years old but it's not *just* 52 Girls
Rock Lobster
Dance this Mess Around
Strobe Light
probably more.
Solid 8.

Good comment. This piece gets a solid 2 from me.

Also, it sounds completely unlike the original mix by DJ Shadow. The Soulwax version is completely transformative, in my opinion.
Here's a list of some of the samples used in the original track.
I just love the Ouroboros that is a sample-based song getting such a transformative remix!

I knew a farmer who had a dog named "Two Times" because if you call him Once, he wouldn't come, but if you call him Two Times, he'll come. Cats won't come if you call them Once either, but if you call them Two Times, the dog comes, so the cat was named "Three Times"
