These are the words
But not the truth
God bless them all
When they speak to you
But that's alright
On an empty stage
Sing out when
There's no other way
Come drift the town where secrets lie
Where friends and neighbours keep drifting by
But that's alright
You're here to stay
Sing out tonight
The empty page
I always thought I'd see
Your name in flashing light
You did it all for free, girl
And freely ripped the night
You're free to fight
These are the words
But not the truth
God bless them all
When they speak to you
But that's alright
You're here to stay
Sing out tonight
The empty page
Do you remember the time
When you were new in town
You smashed your head in the mirror, baby
And kissed the frozen ground
Yr ripped up sound
The empty page has wasted down
The empty page is ripped
The empty page will waste this town
The empty page has slipped

I live for that moment after "Yr ripped up sound."
Both based in NYC this song has a surprisingly similar sound to Steve Wynn & the Miracle 3, a band never heard on RP to my knowledge. Try it, you'll like it!

Hype? What hype? They've been around since you were walking in diapers and since them have had full creative control over their records. These guys are a rock & roll miracle for being around so long and still putting out fantastic albums! And man... can they still rock live!!!
Marginally ho-hum. They've yet to impress me. At all. I don't bye the hype.

True. But when did that ever really matter in this type of music? Somehow the poor singing fits right in with the song as a whole and strengthens it.
No, it doesn't. It just makes it suck more.

Tried hard to get into SY, but their music gets very repetitive very quickly. Bought their first and their last; don't listen to either one.
Unfortunately sonic youth. AKA, sonically-challenged youth.
