Sérdu rúmbudansinn duna nú,
Dönsum thví, ég og thú.
Svifum létt um gólfid til og frá,
Töfrabrá, logathrá.
Er thad draumur eda ert thú hér,
Enn í kvöld, einn med mér.
Armar thínir vekja ástarbál,
Unadsmál, eld í sál.
Dönsum saman uns dagurinn rís,
Thótt thu dyljist thví minnist ég thin.
Og thín hond leidir hond mína heim,
Ut í hamingjugeim.
Sérdu rúmbudansinn duna nú,

I like Bjork Bjork
Ever since the sugarcubes, and she has grown a lot since then, in a good way

A term of endearment I'm sure - I prefer to view her as eclectic - and I am a fan - but not so serious.
She's as nutty as a fruit cake of course - but I'm a serious fan!

Literally, I think it's "dance with me". But the song, as pointed out, is "Sway with me".
Translation:
To dance with you
See the rumba drumming on,
So lets dance, me and you
glide easily around the floor to and fro
Magic skin, fiery love.
Is it a dream, or are you here?
Still tonight, alone with me
Your arms light a lovefire
Pleasure, fire in the soul
Lets dance together until day rises
Even though you hide I remember you
And your hand leads my hand home
Out to a space of happiness
See the rumba drumming on,
So lets dance, me and you
glide easily around the floor to and fro
Magic skin, fiery love.
Is it a dream, or are you here?

Hm. That would officially be the first time of me hearing a song of Björk - and actually liking it! Mark that in your calendars *hehe*
Me too... And I can't understand a word she's saying! Go figure...
Heehee. If you click on the AMG link, it searches on this string: BJ&F6RK . That's pretty much her.
I like Bjork-bjazz.
It's always good to have more jazz on the station. And what a refreshing thing... a standard in Icelandic!
Until I read your post I couldn't put my finger on the association I had with the song but you nailed it!

For some weird reason, this reminds me of the original Pink Panther movie during the ski lodge scene. I saw the old movie recently on public TV

I have had it for a long time, cause I am a huge Bjork fan, and am glad to hear to it somewhere other than my room.
Thank you.
I'll second that!
I love her and this jazz album of hers is fabulous. Jazz in Icelandic!
It always makes me happy and feel like moving.

Cool! Can I use 'em?
She's quirky, original & so very, very cute!

Saw her on a show recently and it was remarkable how much she resembled a young Rosanne Barr. Imagine!

Thank you.
There are times -- now, for example -- when Björk's singing doesn't seem to bother me much at all. Wonder what that's about.
Nuttier than a squirrels fart!!
something about this song - phrasing, pacing? reminds me of Tom Waits - Jockey Full of Bourbon
what a treat this morning - I've got to find this album.
more Bjork, please!
So she can sing
Interesting rendition.
This is infact the song Sway done her way. not bad though.
Is this the sound of me throwing up glass on a crowd of pepole? Oh wait, no, it's Bjork's voice.
Too bad I really like the piano or I could've rated it a 1.
She's an odd duck but I respect her creativity a great deal.
excellent! i've never heard her sing anything but english, so this is refreshing. :)
Didn't know there were any Bjork albums (other than Sugarcubes) before Debut. Thanks for introducing me. Turns out she also had an album released in 1977 when she was 11. Went Platinum in Iceland. Who knew?

hmmm...maybe, but to me it sounded more like the song 'Sway' Written by Norman Gimbel and Pablo Beltran Ruiz and memorable from when Jennifer Connelly lip syncs them in the movie "Dark City"...but you may be right...one Bjork rumba sounds just like another
I think like the version of "Sway" by Dean Martin a tad better. The one with the "Ping!"'s at the start. Same melody.
But this one's fun anyway.
i've been having trouble listening to bjork after seeing dancer in the dark (a few months ago). that movie traumatized me.

No Gling-Glo is Bjork's origins. Big-Time Sensuality is the departure. This is great stuff.
Well I learned something new today... thanks.
I've never heard anything of hers other then the Big-Time Sensuality style. This is very cool... first time hearing Icelandic too. 8)
I got the CD after hearing this on RP.
Great tunes !
Uh, well . . . no.

Maybe it's because shes not singing in English. I find most of her stuff decent but this is definetly better.

Wow, this is absolutely gorgeous. Reminds me a bit of Paris Combo... only she's not singing French.
I'll never tire of our favorite icelandic elf...

i'm be willing to bet it's something along the lines of the Dean Martin original "Sway Me Now," only in Icelandic. of course, i could be wrong...

hee! yep, I agree.
I have no idea of what she is saying but Cool.
It is the song "¿Quién será?", later known as "Sway", written by Luis Demetrio who then sold the rights to Pablo Beltran Ruiz. Norman Gimbel wrote English lyrics for it and gave it the English title. This is from an album of Bjork with and an Icelandic jazz trio, done as a side project while she was still with The Sugarcubes.
