I will write you letters that
Explain the way I'm thinking now
I, I will return to you
What I have taken long before
I, I will return again
When it gets dark and day is done

And lay me down
In the hollowed ground
Down by your side I will stay
So lay me down

And if you wanna stay with me
Then let me know before it's light
I, I will recoil myself
Into the black and darkest night

And lay me down
In the hollowed ground
Where my father waits I will stay
So lay me down

And lay me down
In the hollowed ground
Down by your side I will stay
So lay me down

Sounds like 'hollowed' to me
I thought this was Robert Plant and.. His new female singing partner

Shit, I love Frames. Out.
Another great one dusted off - thanks William for digging in to the library for a "refresh!"
Reminds me so much of the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss song: Please Read The Letter
Hunh...another iteration of Glen Hansard...he's an interesting fellow, no?
I love the live version of this on The Frames' "Set List", which is one of the best live albums ever. Full stop.
Love this song. I might just prefer Dark Green Tree's cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGZzHKrPDbk
I'm Glen's biggest fan, but this is like his seven-hundreth best song. Not that good, really.

You seem so easily seduced into slumber, friend. Perhaps more sleep might allow more enjoyment from RP's "soporific" numbers? {#Tongue-out}
Love Glen :) platonically ;)

Interesting...  this was a single of theirs in 2001...  I am leaving it unrated for now, but it has some nice stuff to it...
I just requested this song last week, so I'm so excited to hear it!  I feel in love with this Frames song thanks to the live version on their site. I love Glen's impromptu "Ring of Fire" halfway through the song and the crowd's singing along.

Yep, it's a very similar sound. Which isn't a good thing, for my ears, as I&W songs are almost auto-rated as Ho-Hum. Yer man's voice is so soporific that I feel like laying down and taking a snooze, though the banjo is tricky and interesting enough to keep me from the land of Nod. Just. 4 from the Nottingham jury {#Sleep}

Stop it!  I can't concentrate on my work this afternoon because the music is so fantastic!
"Snow Falling on Sinners" by Bill Heath = greatest Ski Film ever.

If you like skiing you'll find that ski flick and watch it - this song is featured prominently in it, as is Josh Ritter.

Bingo!  ... it was my very first listening of the Frames. Loved it, and has spurred me on to collect their entire discography. Very Worthy Band. Hansard has tremondous charm and songwriting skill. Cheers RP for the play.

Not here, 7.2 is a pretty decent rating.

This kind of has a mellower DMB vibe to it. Quite nice.
Nice.  Very nice.

I am an ardent fan of The Frames.Glad the world and RP are discovering them.
Not true of most Frames, but this tune hits me in a very Iron & Wine way. Still excellent.
I love Glen!

I finally saw Once recently, and really liked it. Very low-key, but true. Will have to get some of this music. Good stuff.
I'll second that. Check out the soundtrack to Once as well as The Swell Season CD... fantastic.

This is the guy from the movie "Once".
He also played the part of the guitar player in The Commitments.

Normally this is precisely the sort of music I really like. However I get an overwhelming impression of the parts not quite adding up to the whole they should be. Not quite sure why.
Lovely feel to this number, nice!
Saw these guys live in Boston this weekend - one word: Unbelievable atastic!
Thanks RP, you've introduced me to another great band. Never heard them before but I see they've been around for along time - big in the Czech Republic evidently!
Wow, this is great. Never heard of them before. Sounds like it should be played after "Hey There Delilah" by The Plain White Tees. Very nice.

You're so right about them live. Since my last posting I've backtracked to gather all their recordings and finally got to see them live here in Montreal. They have quickly become one of my favourites. Merci RP !!

I as well would love to hear more from the Frames. I have just stumbled on this band from Ireland and their pop / rock savvy is really worth listening too. Voted best Irish band not too long ago from what I heard
