Counting everyday I spend
Counting the days after I've peaked
Passive in the way I stand
Numbing the strong cuts on my hands
I know its right, when I'm left alone
I feel stronger now, much stronger now this way
Closer, than I ever thought I could be
I believe now
Closer
To who I am
Can't compare a single day
The stones I hear them trade
Comfort comes to me in sleep
Bitterness turned sweet
I know its right when I'm left alone
I feel stronger now, much stronger now
This way
Closer, that I ever thought I could be
I believe now
Closer
To who I am
Closer, than I ever thought I could be
I believe now
Closer, closer

So speaks an early slashdotter...
1 for cool band name.
MDD111 THE best by miles
That certainly charges madly off in all directions.
Very Porcupine Tree-esque.
That's a good thing

They may be unified in theory, but the result sounds rather jumbled and distorted. Ho hum music.
a 2nd album called Cinematic should be available around February 2007 (on iTunes first). Check out www.beemelon.com (click here) for further information
nice jellyfish photo on the cover...other than that I could have lived with out it's drainingly redundent chorus.....
Allllllllllllllllll Apologies??
Hi! No one else here who thought this _might_ be (Robert) Plant? (Although I believe I know nearly all of his former projects... ;-) Salut, Jörg
Great song. Great chorus.
It's okay, I guess. Sounds a little generic.

Intro is headed for a 9. Gets less interesting from there, but still not bad. . . .
agree
Wow! Sounds just like Unified Theory!
Let's try to sound just like Radiohead...

That's why I installed a speaker simulator plugin in XMMS, it mixes some of the sound of the right channel into the left channel with a small delay, and vice versa... Actually it were Beatles songs which made me do this :)

Ouch -- I hate when that happens... Oh, yeah -- the rest of the song doesn't suck your brains out, but it's not that good, either.
Thought that was Flaming Lips... 6.

This isn't Jethro Tull?--What about the flute and the tempo? I am sure the labeling is wrong! :?: Please explain this!--Turns out that the "Now Playing" was not updated in time, and the song I was hearing was Reasons for Waiting by Jethro Tull. What can be done about this problem--(not the first time, by the way)? :verysorry:

That's a great thought, pdhski. Maybe a dose of Dada to account for the dissonance in the guitar chords? Nice tune.

Good tune. Fine effort. Catchy and enjoyable.
This whole cd is just excellent!!
I would like to hear more from this group. Thanks Bill G!

Actually, alot of the songs seem to deal with watching a friend destroy themselves. For instance, in "Wither" (another track which get RP play) he sings, "fill the hole with the single perforation, makes the mountains big from where I'm sitting" and later..."a miracle is what I'm asking, to open up to the world your living, if just for a day". There's another song called "Pilot" which referenced the Icarus story. That story, of course, is about someone who is killed after reaching for something they were admonished from doing. The album was recorded as part of a plan to keep Blind Melon going, but didn't pan out. Songs are not all about losing friends to hopeless situations, but the references are there and often.
Very nice indeed. Haven't heard them before, but if the rest is like this I may have to make a purchase.
beautiful voice stands out of the sound. But it goes with this kind of music. Very very nice.
I love the sound of this song
Haven't heard this one before... quite enjoyable :nodhead:

Pretentious-sounding is it. What does that really mean anyway. Most overused critisism leveled a Music.

when i saw them in Baltimore, they were cool as hell. hung out with the crowd before their set, had a few beers. very friendly and un-rockstar-like in my opinion.

I thought it was until I looked at the title.
I\'m in love with girlafraid. good tune. Dot
ok. i really like this sound. then i read the similarities to blind melon...and it changed what i was thinking. isn\'t that funny? still like it, but i wasn\'t thinking the similarities between the sound and blind melon. in fact, i was on a totally different tangent. music can do that to ya. in any case, i liked this sound. i\'ve had the cd for about a year and never listened to it (gift)...now, i will! :)

Hi gypsy! :) From a CDNOW review of this CD:
Briefly tenured Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen (he played on its Ten debut) and former Blind Melon members Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith comprise three-fourths of Unified Theory.
This sounds a little like Shannon Hoon/Blind Melon. Pretty good.
