Found what I'd lost inside
My spirit has been purified
Take a thorn from my pride
And hand in hand we'll take a walk outside

Thank you for the sun the one that shines on everyone
Who feels love
Now there's a million years between my fantasies and fears
I feel love

Leaving all that I see
Now all my emotions fill the air I breath

Now you understand that this is not the promised land
They spoke of
There's nothing more to be
If you can be the remedy who heals love

I thank you for the sun the one that shines on everyone
Who feels love
Now there's a million years between my fantasies and fears
I feel love

I thank you for the sun the one that shines on everyone
Who feels love
Now there's a million years between my fantasies and fears
I feel love

wow—lotta haters here.
I *crank* this song whenever it comes on and groove away!
I don't really want to like this tune. Not an Oasis fan...but have to admit, I like the feel and vibe! I guess even spoiled, immature, British Beatle wannabes can get it right once in a while.
Most overrated band.

(If anyone wats to listen to the Beatles of a certain era their recordings remain available)

Someone, please pass the body armour.
sounds like the over produced B side for Imagine
It's very Thunderclap Newman - Something In The Air, innit? 😁

I suppose there could be a pair of giant Siamese twins joined at the shoulder. Seems a bit cruel to stand on them, though.

The title is based on a typo when Noel wrote down the quote from Isaac Newton late one evening, and when he saw the note the next day, he liked it and decided to keep it as was (from memory, so details TBC).
Well, this sure sounded phony after Traffic.

I mean, it sounds like he's on the phone.

(I don't.)
I know lots of people like them. Just not for me.

Very well stated!!
Good Song! I never heard it before. Thanx RP!

How does this remind you of the 70's? Because apart from post punk there was fuck all for 20 years after that, and for another 20 years after that, and it gets worse, apart from some incredible local bands making great music and some lesser known acts that Bill manages to find. The mainstream is dead with it's dearth of autotune dicks sounding like jimmy saville.

Why only one shoulder?

The only thing they have in common now is a historical connection with Oasis and they both support Manchester City soccer club.

Indeed, but say what you like about the two siblings, they can pen a catchy tune and lay a good vocal melody over it. Over the years I've mellowed to Noel because he's genuinely funny "my brother's angry, he's like a man with a fork in a world of soup" but Liam is clearly a dunderhead.

So bad at lyrics they even messed up on the album title.
This guy is why they invented auto-tune.
Waiting for him to sing , Waiting- on a jet plane...
I don't think anyone under 50yrs is going to get that...
"We have got to get it together..." etc.  I've enjoyed some of their earlier and rockier stuff, up to and not including W~=+]rw#:l, but their blatant plagiarism and arrogance under the guise of paying tribute to their heroes is just tiresome now.  To my ears, anyway.

Who Feels Love? BOM DEMAIS.

You kids. The 90's was like yesterday.

They were a bit better than the current time with the soulless elevator music we hear everywhere now tho
Love it !
Love this song
Funny to hear a Pretenders song played before this one with Chrissie Hynde's vibrato you can drive a truck through, then to hear Liam's flatliner style of singing. I doubt this was the intention of the playlist, though.

But then it would be shoulder, not the shoulder! The siamese twin hypothesis is the most promising one so far since it reduces the number of possible shoulders from four to two, still it doesn't take us all the way down to one.

What happened to one or the other of their lateral shoulders?

Moreover, there would need to be multiple siamese twin giants joined at the shoulder, otherwise it would be the giants, but no more than two sets of twins, else how would Oasis be straddling them?

Dear Prudence!
The problem with Oasis is they  released two of the best rock albums ever, back to back. They are now dismissed due their inability to top DM and WTSMG. This is a terrific song from the weakest album. IMHO,

Liam, like Chris Robinson,  had the VOX for 2  solid rock albums.   But like many good tv series,  they don't know when to stop.    and, why  here on RP,   THIS  track from all of the Oasis songs?

Learn to sing like Liam Gallager 101

2) Two fingers down throat
3) One thumb up own butt (optional)
Yeah this is not Oasis best moment. Very dreary tune.

Yes.
All that, AND, note what a blatant plea for acceptance by an American audience this album art is!

And I must mention (as I have elsewhere), I believe the name of the album is a subconscious tip-o-the hat (by the Gallaghers) to the Beatles, the musical giants on whose shoulders they stood, by doing their damnedest to sound like the greatest band ever to come out of Britain.

Oh, and by the way, Wikipedia says the photo was shot from the roof of 500 5th Ave...(the building occupied by, amongst others, Zara and Muji) which makes sense, otherwise you'd SEE 500 5th Ave in the foreground, not the HSBC Bank Tower, which is the case.
I love love LOVE this song!  I'm a big fan of Oasis, and this song is by far my favorite.  Thank you, Bill and Rebecca.

I'll take Tears for Fears "Sowing The Seeds of Love" when I want to hear a Lennon/Beatles homage.

Even the best, catchiest, most musically ambitious Oasis songs (of which there are quite a few) seem to reach a point around the 3 and a half minute mark when their producer's ideas run out and they just "jam" (I believe that's the phrase) for a further 2-3 eons (usually my patience never lasts out till the actual end of the recording, the droning urges my finger to press the forward arrow), moaning the same phrase over and over and over. This one, though, doesn't beat about the bush and actually kicks off with the moaning droning, and I wonder if this isn't part of a conspiracy to discredit Oasis by playing this solitary track ad nauseum (well we passed that point ages ago) - the feeble connection with George Harrison's sitar period could be illustrated by a handful of other Oasis tracks too. Anyway, an otherwise decent mix this evening was not at all ruined by this godawful interlude - it's just that, when Oasis were so prolific, why does it always seem to be the same (not their best) track on RP? Do they let this one get played for free?

Great recording of this when Beatles toured Japan. Only available bootleg.

Another band that should have quit as Legends after two LPs. The hubris of Liam G is beyond ghastly.  Noel G talented, but like a hi fi component, needs matching/pairing carefully.

Oasis owned the UK pop scene for a time in the mid-late 90s, really courting the football hooligan/lad crowd, then quickly blew it with shoddy material, presented with misplaced arrogance.

Delusions of adequacy. Although 'Live Forever ' is one of my all time favs.

I never followed Oasis all that closely but it seems like they relied on certain gimmicks a lot, some of which were borrowed from the Beatles. They had an interesting sound but that doesn't take you too far if the lyrics are forgettable and you don't change things up too much.

As for the Gallagher brothers and their personal dramas—seems kinda laughable now, doesn't it? Sort of like the furor over Justin Bieber's antics. File under: Where Are They Now?
