Every little town has its own diversion
Every little hole has a corner you can hide
And every little smile has got something that you can't forget
If you do it's like closing your eyes

Take your first shot if you think that you've got one
Take the first shot if you're coming after me
Take the best shot, do the worst that you can
Take the first shot cause that's all you're gonna get

EL Conquiscador knows that you've seen him
Slowly disappears into the shadows of the night
If you find yourself dancing with your demons
Take your best shot, cause you're fighting for your life

Take your best shot if you think that you've got one
Take the first shot if you're coming after me
Take the best shot, do the worst that you can
Take the first shot cause that's all you're gonna get
Take the first shot cause that's all you're gonna get

Thought I was hearing a Madrugada song I hadn't heard before so I had to look.  Never heard of this guy, Like it but haunting! a solid 7 so far.  This is why I listen to RP!
Chris Rea ==> Rea Garvey.
Maybe Elbow (Guy Garvey) is next?

Never heard this before. Interesting.

I think the opposite. I think they're quite comical eyebrows.

Apparently I don't dislike it as much as others. Find it hard to believe a German did it though, sounds more like someone from down south US.

Irish, not German
Voice reminded me of The Church

This sounds like it would be in a Tarantino film.

Yeah Rea, I think they took their best shot. Over to you:

Still from "Pulp Fiction": Samuel Jackson and John Travolta wearing blood-soaked suits and ties
I am gettting ready to shoot myself! A SOLID 1.
"Hey Ray, great one man! You were so COOL Dude! OK, Take care man, great seeing you!" .......(fuckin douche looks so bloody pissed, what the fuck is up his ass anyway, jeesch?)

Interesting, I did not get redneck from it- and I found the cover intriguingly ambiguous. Perception is a strange thing...
liked it better before it got run into the ground, hey bill this ain't top 40 days or even KFAT.................NEED NEW LOOPS..........
Listen for the dark Ray on the next cut
Look at that dark ray Ringing that iron bell In Scarlet Town today

Every time I hear this I have to check out Red_Dragon's post. The music's ok though.

Agreed. Thought this was Calexico at first.

I'll take my best shot, all rightie--using the CD of this album as my clay pigeon.

(Remember, when shooting sporting clays or listening to Rea Garvey albums, wear effective ear protection.)
sheesh, guy looks pissed
Can we please switch over the Chris Rea

complete agreement.

Thought this was interesting at first, but now it's on the list of selections that make me switch to another channel for a bit.
This sounds like it would be in a Tarantino film.
First name pronounced "Ray" as it is short for Raymond.

Nice sound.
You can download the album from Amazon for $9.95.  It is the hard-copy CD that costs $45.00 =/-.  (be sure to link through the Amazon link on Radio Paradise's home page, so that RP gets some support for helping us hear of Rea Garvey.)

Thank you... I like the spacing and sparse-ness of the music... so... Hip-Hip-Off I zip...to Amazon.de

I am curious and wish to know more about him/group... But Amazon price of $44 and $99 for the other album is a bit beyond my curiousity boundary... I wonder what else is on that album-?   Clues-?

Well, as others wrote, he used to be (still is?) the frontman of Reamonn, a quite successful, sorta MOR pop group, probably most famous for "Supergirl". I don't know any of his other solo stuff, but if this is any indication, I'd prefer his solo record.

I guess you could order it for a reasonable price at Amazon.de. Their standard international shipping rate is 3.00 EUR per delivery plus 3.00 EUR/kg, here's a link to their English help section

At first I thought this was Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen. Like it.
unfuckinfassbar

Never thought I'd hear him on here.
(btw, Bill he pronounces his name like ray)
Wow, Rea Garvey on RP?!  Not bad!
yeah, his band (Reamonn) was pretty big in germany (they split up in 2010). I don't care a lot for their music, but I don't hate it either. Everyone who can hold & handle a guitar is cool in my book music-wise. ;o)  Apart from that I think the singer is a "nice" guy (& he's an expat from Ireland. He speaks german with a pretty heavy Irish accent).

Concerning his solo effort here: I think it's pretty decent and adds to RP's mix quite nicely...I was surprised when I read "Rea Garvey" on the playlist...
Rea has a great success with a german TV Show "Voice of Germany" (yesterday Oct. 19 on tv "sat 1") ... he is very popular in Germany ... Greetings from the city of Bonn / Germany to all RP listeners

Hearing Chris Rea....
....really surprised reading THIS is the former lead singer of *reamon*,....an average german band in the 90s........applause
Quck, Maw, the PSD!
This got my attention...nice.
Is that Link Ray and the Raymen on backup and lead guitar??
I like it.  This guy has some soul, that's for sure.
