Put a candle in the window,
'Cause I feel I've got to move.
Though I'm going, going,
I'll be coming home soon,
Long as I can see the light.
Pack my bag and let's get movin',
'Cause I'm bound to drift a while.
When I'm gone, gone,
You don't have to worry long,
Long as I can see the light.
Guess I've got that old trav'lin' bone,
'Cause this feelin' won't leave me alone.
But I won't, won't
Be losin' my way, no, no,
Long as I can see the light.
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Oh, yeah!
Put a candle in the window,
'Cause I feel I've got to move.
Though I'm going, going,
I'll be coming home soon,
Long as I can see the light,
Long as I can see the light,
Long as I can see the light,
Long as I can see the light,
Long as I can see the light...
'Cause I feel I've got to move.
Though I'm going, going,

Long as I can see the light.

I don't understand why Tomansi gets down votes for this comment. Whats up with that?
It's obvious. Tomansi's rating is too low. RP = at least a 9. I'll be a faithful listener for "as long as I can see the light".

Because unless its a brainless platitude, someone is offended.

Last I checked he was from America and can talk any way he pleases. Also, I'm not so sure he's sporting a southern accent as his family hails from the mid-west/west. CCR certainly did like southern iconography in their music, but it doesn't make them "fake" in any way. The Band did too, and they're from Canada.
That's some strange NorCal tribalism you got workin'.
Levon Helm was from Arkansas

Truly my only "favorite" Creedence tune.

I always thought they were from the south because of Fogerty's singing and sometime-southern accent. Then I found out he was from the East Bay (El Cerrito, CA). Fake accent. Weird. I'm from near there, and we don't talk like that.

Would be a great segue to "Beginning to See the Light"
Just a plain old thanks for the music
That was a lovely transition from a Creedence cover to the REAL DEAL!

if only they'd stayed together
What a string of memorable songs CCR put out in a relatively short period of time.
Should play it often!

Always the ones less suspected and expected.?
Comin like a freight train as it should.

Superb. Joyful, defiantly upbeat melancholy.
The Mavis Staples -> CCR segue has been in rotation as long as I can remember, but I still love it! Hopefully the Blind Boys song gets prepended permanently... it works perfectly as well.

Ahh, nice to hear this old CCR gem.
Fantastic fucking song. Reminds me of my time as a tramp.
First and yes, my Hinterlands friend, my grammar is still questionable. This is a great number from way before my time.
