I was huge fan of the British world of music in the late '70's and early '80's. When I first heard the Eagles and Steely Dan I thought, Am I missing something in the States?? The bring to the table was more than special. Still a huge fan of what the music that I built on from the UK but I grew.

Wow, RP Time Machine! When this came out and was all over the radio, and random people were walking around singing and humming it, I definitely could relate... I was 15, 16 years old, and having to adjust to another new school (my third in 4 years), and it was no easy feat... But adaptation can be a useful skill, honed like any other; I wound up moving back and forth around the world dozens of times, teaching, writing, exploring, learning many languages, enjoying the palette of cultures and experiences Earth has to offer. Now, hearing this song on RP, connecting the myselves of then and now, I feel such a wild mix of emotions... Thanks, RP!

Eagles could do no wrong in '77 when this came out.  Glenn Frey nailed the vocal.  Just about perfect for a pop ballad.

Always strikes a chord with me (pun intended) because when this song was popular on the radio I was the new kid in town after having lived my entire life to that point in the same place and suddenly got uprooted, for which I hated my Dad for. I used to sit in my room and crank this song hoping he'd get a clue. Oh well, from that point I moved probably a dozen times... You get used to it I guess.

This is one of those super-overplayed songs ground down by FM radio, but it's still good to hear. I didn't think much of The Eagles back then, but yes they have a great sound and amazing harmonies...it's almost too smooth, but right now I'm grumpy-hungry.

Just scrolled through the Eagles roster of songs here, and the majority of them have never been played.  Guess that makes up for the

40+ year onslaught we've had on terrestrial radio.
