She came down from Cincinatti
It took her three days on a train
Looking for some peace and quiet
Hoped to see the sun again
But now she lives down by the ocean
She's taking care to look for sharks
They hang out in the local bars
And they feed right after dark

Can't you feel them circling, honey?
Can't you feel them swimming around?
You got fins to the left, fins to the right
And you're the only bait in town
Oh-oh-woah, oh-oh-woah
You got fins to the left, fins to the right
And you're the only girl in town

She's saving up all of her money
Wants to hit it south in may
Maybe roll in the sand with a rock 'n roll man
Somewhere down Monserat Way
But the money's good, and the season
Helps to lighten up her load
Boys keep her high as the months go by
She's getting post cards from the road

Can't you feel them closing in, honey?
Can't you feel them schooling around?
You got fins to the left, fins to the right
And you're the only girl in town

Sailed off to Antigua
It took her three days on a boat
Looking for some peace and quiet
Maybe keep her dreams afloat
But now she feels like A remora
With the school still close at hand
Just behind the reef are the big white teath
Of the sharks that can swim on the land

Can't you feel them circling, honey?
Can't you feel them schoolin' around?
You got fins to the left, fins to the right
And you're the only bait in town
You got fins to the left, fins to the right
And you're the only girl in town

GOT to be a good story behind that line!
Live in the subtropics, deal with Buffett tourists. As was true when I lived in New Orleans, people living cubicle lives assume that the whole world is part of their fantasy construct when they escape for a day or two, and that you find their loud, drunken selves a perfect accompaniment to your hardwon respite. If all they did was piss, it might not be so bad.

I love manatees, they taste just like bald eagle!

If only I was sitting on a cruise ship with other 80 year olds trying to get the clap, this song would be great.  But, alas, I'm half that age and my brain still functions.  Except for right now listening to Bubba (who I love, but not on RP)....

GOT to be a good story behind that line!
It is to laugh!  I don't know if Jimmy is good for RP, or vice versa, but I admire the courage!  6
1 - no thanks...

Do all his songs sound like Margaritaville?
I am absolutely not a Jimmy Buffett "fan" but I've always thought there should be some on RP. It's just fine. 7.

and being played ad nauseum by cover bands that are hating life, for tourists who think that having a good time includes pissing in your garden.

Maybe he's pulling our collective leg.  No, it's not April Fool's Day ...

By the way, I really like this drunk/sailboat stuff.  Perhaps because it helps me remember a drunk/sailboat, and very happy, period of of my own life.

I never really listened to the words closely till this playing. Thanks B!

I had to comment here.  OK song as far as JB songs go, but not on RP.  Ever.
