Love is blindness
I don't want to see
Won't you wrap the night
Around me
Take my heart
Love is blindness

In a parked car
In a crowded street
You see your love
Made complete
Thread is slipping
Love is blindness

Love is clockworks
And cold steel
Fingers too numb to feel
Squeeze the handle
Blow out the candle
Love is blindness

Love is blindness
I don't want to see
Won't you wrap the night
Around me
Oh my love
Blindness

A little death
Without mourning
No call
And no warning
Baby... a dangerous idea
That almost makes sense

Love is drowning
In a deep well
All the secrets
And no one to tell
Take the money
Honey
Blindness

Love is blindness
I don't want to see
Won't you wrap the night
Around me
Oh my love
Blindness

The song and acoustics are amazing.
Appreciate decent covers of great songs. Kudos for the attempt…Billy Corgans brutally horrific cover of the great Stevie Nicks, ‘Landslide’ notwithstanding.

I Agree Completly!  Thanx RP!
SUPERB!!  Thanx RP!
Beautiful vocal but dull production that's not a patch on the emotionally charged U2 original
Sounds like a cross between Sade and Sting.

For me, a coincidence - I just got home from an open mic, where I sang this song :) It shouldn't mean anything, but it makes me feel great:)

That made me stop and look who was singing. At first I thought it was Sade, then Nina Simone but it turned out to be someone I've never heard of before. (I know, where have I been?!)

Thanks B&R

Check out her version of Son House's "Death Letter" off this same album (New Moon Daughter)...Absolutely hypnotic and mesmerizing.  She performed it live on Letterman back in the 90's and the next day I went out and bought the cd on my lunch hour.  It's been one of my favorites ever since...definitely on my "desert island" short list of must have's.
More Cassandra Wilson, PLEASE!!!

I came to look because I thought it was Diana Krall!
Great voice, really enjoyed it
Really interesting interpretation of this song.

Love this song. One that moves me emotional. The guitar shredding of the U2 version is heart breaking in combination with the lyrics.

This version loses that magical combination which makes it even a little boring to listen too.
I saw her a couple of years ago on Austin City Limits or Artist's Den.  She was mesmerizing.
Pretty neigh brillant!
