Dead state I can feel the weight
Light streaming in through the open grate
Tooth red score tearing up the floor
Out in the alley with the trigger draw

Numb hands I can see the strand
Hold it together with a severed band
Three lost years I've been crying here
I'm over, I'm over, I'm over, I'm broken

Strung out on the wings of the dawn
Hole in the back, soul in the storm
Torn down through the cracks in the dark
We're miles adrift, we're inches apart

I'm hit I can feel the grit
Sat in the asher on the beaten brick
Tooth red main running through the vein
Out in the centre with a mirrored cane

Numb feet I can hear you speak
Hold it together with a severed streak
Three long years I've been crying here
I'm over, I'm over, I'm over, I'm broken

Strung out on the wings of the dawn
Hole in the back, soul in the storm
Torn down through the cracks in the dark
We're miles adrift, we're inches apart

Stood up on the side of the earth
Thrown back to the track to the dirt
Tooth red, lose an hour a day
We're miles adrift, we're inches away...

We're miles adrift, we're inches away
We're miles adrift, we're inches away
We're miles adrift, we're inches away
We're miles adrift, we're inches away

Hold it together, with a severed band
Can't feel the blood

For those who haven't seen it yet....hang out and watch as the credits roll at the end (This would be the 2008 X-Files movie)....first of all, the images that flash by are really cool—-but there is a big surprise at the very end that has everything to do with the final lines Scully says in the movie.

This song will always remind me of that now. I had to put it on my iPod.

That is exactly who I thought it was when the credits to the X-files movie started rolling.

It's not (but it is). Gavin Clark,of the band Clayhill, is the vocalist. Unkle covers the instrumental balance. The lyrics are amazing.I absolutely love this song. I've only heard it live and it was just plain insane.

More than 4 notes might make the vocals mildly interesting, rather than narcolepsy-inducing. And away off to iTunes we go again...

Eh? I thought it was something by the The The until I looked - Very ununklelike.

(Yay - for saying 'the' three times in a row and inventing a new word 'ununklelike')

Bill & Rebecca introduced me to Unkle, too. Then I went and fell so head over heels for Unkle I bought 5 albums' worth of MP3's in one day!  I haven't regretted it.
For someone singing with so little range he really seems to be straining. {#Doh}

I will admit, the album art gives me a smile. :)
